⚽ A bit of fun... and all for a great cause! 💜

Last Friday, some of our team swapped their safety boots for football boots as we took part in the 5-a-Side Charity Football Tournament at Sherford Sports Hub, raising money for Crisis, the national charity supporting people experiencing homelessness.

It was a brilliant day of friendly competition, teamwork and plenty of laughs, with local businesses coming together to support a fantastic cause.

A huge thank you to Millie Luscombe for organising such a well-run event. We really appreciate all the hard work that went into making the day such a success.

We were proud to be involved and already look forward to the next one!

A special mention to our fellow teams:

We’ve put together a free lawn care guide - written especially for newly laid lawns (which are having the toughest time of all in this heat), but packed with advice any lawn owner can use. Watering the right way, mowing height, and the mistakes that do more harm than good.

New turf or twenty years old - your grass will thank you for it.

Six apprentice hopefuls joined us today for our practical assessment day 🌱

They got hands-on with tools and machinery, prepped beds for planting, tried pruning, strimming and hedge cutting, and learnt how we keep ourselves and everyone around us safe on site.

It's a full-on day with a lot to take in and every one of them turned up on time, concentrated, and got stuck in. Honestly, that's exactly what we look for.

They've already come through a competitive application and interview process to get here, which is an achievement in itself.

Decisions next week for September places. Whatever happens - well done to all of you, and the very best of luck 🤞

A rare visitor to Sherford's fields 🐦

Look what we spotted on the fence lines at Sherford in the spring - a Corn Bunting.
Sherford was always meant to be a home for wildlife, not just people - and our latest surveys are proof it's working.

As the team behind the landscaping and grounds maintenance across Sherford New Town, we carry out regular wildlife monitoring across the green spaces we manage. This spring that's included a genuinely rare find - a Corn Bunting, a species that's declined by around 90% across the UK since the 1970s and is now scarce across the South West - caught mid-nest-building on a farmland fence line.

Add the Kestrel hovering over our open grassland - another species on the UK's Amber List for conservation concern and the unmistakeable Green Woodpecker foraging across our meadows, and you start to see the bigger picture.

It's a brilliant reflection of Sherford's wider commitment to nature from the wildlife corridors and 170 acres of new habitat to the bat bridge and living wall and we're proud to play our part in caring for the green spaces that make it possible.

Have you spotted something special around Sherford? We'd love to see it 👇

Today is 🐝 Don't Step On A Bee Day

Bees and other pollinators play an important role in the health of our landscapes, supporting the plants, trees and green spaces we rely on every day.

Thoughtful planting schemes can help provide valuable food sources throughout the seasons, creating environments that support wildlife while enhancing the spaces where people live, work and visit.

From flowering shrubs and native hedgerows to wildflower areas and seasonal planting, small decisions can have a lasting impact on biodiversity.

Every bee has a job to do. We're proud to play a small part in creating landscapes that help them thrive.

Earlier this year, our team began landscaping works at a new care home development in Devon, working alongside main contractor Lancer Scott.

A few months on, the results speak for themselves: established planting schemes, a pergola-covered courtyard walkway, and a fully landscaped entrance path that residents and visitors now walk through daily.

Landscaping isn't just about the finished photo. It's the weeks of groundwork, planting schedules, and weather dodging that get you there. Swipe through to see the difference

Thank you to Lancer Scott for the opportunity to be involved in the project.

June Round-Up ☀️

June certainly kept us busy... and hot!

As we worked our way through the heatwaves, protecting our teams remained a priority. Earlier start times and adjusted working hours helped us avoid the hottest part of the day while keeping projects moving safely wherever possible.

There was plenty to celebrate too, with one of our team marking a milestone birthday and another earning a well-deserved promotion.

Out on site, our teams completed work at a beautiful large domestic property and we continued delivering landscaping, grounds maintenance and environmental works across Devon, Cornwall.

These are just a few of the highlights from another busy month. We look forward to sharing more of what July has in store.
