At forest camp this week Foundation sat beautifully listening to the story of Stick Man.
Our task was to then work together and make our very own stick people.

Welcome to Connect Foundation Stage! 🌟

What a fantastic start to the school year! Nearly 420 of our newest starters have joined our family of schools and we couldn't be prouder of how well they have settled in 💙
From forest school to making new friends, they've already shown so much curiosity, confidence and kindness. A huge thank you to our families for your support and to our brilliant Foundation Stage teams for making every child feel so welcome.

Ahead of our trip to Wembury Beach next week, Year 4 enjoyed a fascinating visit from Jake of the Devon Wildlife Trust! Jake introduced us to the 'Big 5' marine creatures we hope to see on our rockpool safaris, and taught us about The Seashore Code. We were very intrigued by the seashore objects Jake brought with him for us to handle, including mermaid's purses, part of a whale's vertebrae and rib and a limpet shell! 🏖️🌊🦀🐋🙂

Year 4 Science: as part of our Living Things and their Habitats topic, we conducted a local habitat survey on our school grounds. We were looking out for any environmental dangers and changes to habitats, and thinking carefully about how we can help. Our scientific observations developed into a Clownfish litter pick, even finding treasure in the shape of a stray football! 🌳🍃 🗑😀

Year 2 had a very important visitor come in to teach us all about keeping safe around fire.

We all now know that we need to dial 999 when there is an emergency and we need help. The fire brigade is one of our four emergency services and they can help us in many different ways. We can also look after ourselves by checking our smoke alarms once every month and making sure we all know the first line of our address in case we need to tell a 999 phone operator where we are.

Year 2 have had such a fabulous start to the year, Jiggles the Jellyfish 🪼 and Bubbles the Seal 🦭 really wanted to buy them all a bought them all an extra special treat. 🎁

The children were really excited to find a present all wrapped up and labelled with a tag sharing just how proud the Year 2 team are of them. Inside was a copy of the new Gruffalo Granny book. The children couldn’t wait to have the story read to them by their new teachers and Miss McCarthy’s mum who is a real granny!

Well done Year 2! 😀
