This afternoon, Year 4 welcomed local Councillor Chris Wood into school as part of our PSHE learning on Citizenship. He talked to us about the role of being a local councillor, explained how local people can contact their local councillor and explained the issues that a local councillor might be able to help with. He answered lots of our questions!
Thank you very much for taking the time to come into our school to support our learning. π€©

At Eggbuckland Vale we truly believe that every child has the right to thrive. Each and every day we show up in our teams, giving our best selves, to ensure that children develop into happy, independent and ambitious children. We value fun, compassion and community and this lives out in everything we do, creating a culture of warmth in which we can be truly aspirational for our children. We are looking for educators who share this vision and if that is you, we would love you to get in touch and share your story with us!

Violent clips, online conflicts and shock-value challenges can spread rapidly across social media platforms. Many young people are exposed to this content through algorithms or messaging groups, even when they were not actively searching for it.
Our latest guide explores how viral trends can encourage risky behaviour, normalise violence and create anxiety or fear within communities.
The guide also highlights:
β’ The emotional and legal risks of sharing violent content
β’ How social media algorithms amplify harmful material
β’ Practical advice for parents and educators
