Our Story
Babcock own and operate major dockyard facilities at Devonport and Rosyth. Devonport carries out a range of support and deep maintenance work on both surface ships and nuclear-powered submarines whilst Rosyth does similar work on surface ships ranging from the RN's current aircraft carriers through to sophisticated mine hunters. Rosyth is also the assembly site for the UK's two new aircraft carriers.
The history of Devonport Royal Dockyard can be traced back to 1691 when William of Orange commissioned the building of a new dockyard to support the Royal Navy.
