Gate Safety Reminder

Please can we remind all parents and carers not to let anyone else through the gate when entering or leaving the nursery, even if they have children with them.

For the safety of all children and staff, it is important that staff are able to see and monitor every person entering the premises.

Please allow other parents and visitors to buzz in separately so that a member of staff can let them in.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us keep everyone safe.

Our Baby Room children have been busy exploring vegetables this week!

The children have been using their senses to investigate a variety of vegetables, exploring the different colours, shapes, textures and smells. They enjoyed touching, holding and investigating them through play.

Sensory experiences like this encourage curiosity and give our youngest children opportunities to explore and learn about the world around them.

This week, the children have been getting creative with some lovely autumn-themed activities!

They have enjoyed painting trees with cauliflower to create different patterns and textures, as well as using playdough to make their very own hedgehogs. The children carefully added the different features and looked very proud of their finished creations.

These activities are a great way to encourage creativity, imagination and fine motor skills while exploring our autumn theme through play.

In the Baby Room, the children have been exploring our “All About Me” theme. They have enjoyed looking closely at their reflections in mirrors, noticing their different features and having a go at drawing what they can see.

This activity supports the children’s growing sense of self, while encouraging creativity, observation and early mark-making skills.

Family Photo Request

As part of our “All About Me” theme, we would love for each child to bring in or email/add to tapestry a family photograph to display in our All About Me area.

Having familiar faces within the nursery environment helps children feel a sense of belonging and gives them a lovely opportunity to talk about the special people in their lives.

What a way to end our first week!

Today we have had an explosion of glitter and bubbles – definitely a sign that the children have been having lots of fun, getting engaged and enjoying their learning through play!

A huge well done to all of our new children who joined us this week. You have settled in amazingly well, and we look forward to seeing your confidence continue to build as you explore your new environment and grow those special bonds with your key person and peers.

What a brilliant first week back

We are very grateful to have lots of lovely new resources arriving this term, starting with our brand-new mud kitchen!

Some of the children got straight to work making the teachers' cups of tea, pizzas and spaghetti bolognese… but, as most parents will know, many of the children were much more excited by the massive box it arrived in! Of course, this quickly became a new house to explore, play in and make their own.

We are also creating a new sensory area in our garden. This will provide a calmer, quieter space away from the busier activities in the main garden, giving children somewhere to explore sensory experiences, regulate and enjoy some quieter time when they need it.

Another exciting addition is our new large communication board. This is available for everyone to use together and will help give all children more opportunities to express their wants, needs, thoughts and choices independently.

We are looking forward to seeing how the children explore and enjoy all of our new resources over the coming weeks!
