We are proud to see our wider work with young people featured in the news this week.
Projects like EGG-ED sit at the start of the journey we talk about through Hook It and Cook It, helping young people understand where food really comes from.
From hatching chicks, to caring for animals, to cooking and sharing food together, it builds confidence, connection and real life skills that stay with them.
If you have seen the article, a like, comment or share would mean a great deal and help more families and schools discover what is possible.
A small number of EGG-ED projects are still available after Easter, so if you know a school or group that would benefit, please do pass it on.

Quick trial this afternoon turned into something far more impactful.
When our local RFD suggested we test drive a pair of the Pulsar Merger LRF XT50, we jumped at the chance… and what better time to do so than a last-minute trip to the Highlands.
We were out this afternoon and again into the evening, and the clarity is genuinely exceptional. Not just spotting heat signatures, but being able to understand what we’re looking at much earlier and with real confidence.
For us at BEESUK, this is about more than equipment. It’s about how tools like this can enhance environmental awareness, wildlife observation, and the way young people engage with the natural world. The ability to safely observe wildlife at distance opens up powerful learning opportunities without disturbance.
It also reinforces something we’ve been thinking about for a while… technology like this could be incredibly valuable for services such as Mountain Rescue, where rapid detection and situational awareness can make a real difference.
We’ll be putting them through their paces over the weekend and will share more insights, along with any footage we’re able to capture.

As the final day of doe season draws to a close, we find ourselves retreating from a wet, windy, and cold fruitless evening in the woods!
Our spirits remained undeterred. Escaping back to the warmth and comfort of BEES HQ, we congregated around the fire, thawing from the day's adventures.
The culinary escapade that followed was very welcome. We feasted upon venison burgers, topped with blowtorched home-smoked cheese, Smokey bacon, and the very last of our venison chorizo mix - a delightful concoction from the previous week's endeavour in chorizo making.
While the idea of hunting may be abhorrent to some, for us, it represents far more than a mere tradition or lifestyle choice. It's a crucial element of conservation, a balance of nature that we meticulously uphold. Tonight's meal boasts an incredibly low carbon footprint, with the bulk ingredient having travelled a mere 0.0373 food miles - or 65 meters in old currency.
As we tucked in, we're reminded of the importance of Deer management for conservation and the profound connection it fosters with the natural world.
