We have made it to the end of term 🎉
We enjoyed our final Celebration Assembly this afternoon and recognised the amazing achievement that has made this academic year a really successful one.

We gave our Year 6 leavers the usual send off. It has been a privilege watching them grow as young people during their time at our wonderful school. We hope their next adventures are as fun and memorable. Wishing you all the very best of luck at secondary school 👏😀

CAFOD The Big Lent Walk 🙌

This Lent the children and staff at St Peter’s are taking part in the CAFOD Big Lent Walk! If 140 of us walk the 1.6km around the school, we will walk 224km in total. The walk takes place on Monday 6th March at 9.30 am. Parents and Carers are welcome to join us for a special assembly at 9.15 am and then the walk begins at 9.30 am.

Please sponsor us as we raise money to help fight global poverty. Donations can be as little as £1, or as much as you can generously afford.

The children from Romero Class are having a curling competition with members of The Salvation Army - Plymouth Whitleigh who kindly visited us this afternoon. Lots of skills and lots of fun! 😀🥌👏

This week Assisi class have been learning all about the Chinese New Year. We were very lucky to have a visitor to come and teach us all about Chinese New Year and the traditions. We have been busy making dragons, Chinese lanterns, zodiac animals out of Lego, and rabbits as it is the Year of the Rabbit.

WEATHER IS LOOKING OK! Lantern parade this Friday from 5-8. Yes, I realise England is playing so come down early get a burger or hot dog see the Lanterns and Christmas Tree Lights being turned on before watching the game!😀

We’re not open tomorrow morning (Tuesday) for our usual activities, but we will be open on Saturday morning for a coffee morning. Come and enjoy a coffee/tea, cake or breakfast bap, all in a warm welcoming space

Well done to the Year 5 and 6 children who competed in the cross-country championships this afternoon at Staddiscombe sports ground 👏😀 A fantastic effort by all and a special mention for Riley who won the bronze medal! 🏅👏😀

Here are our newly qualified Bronze Ambassadors! 👏 These children have been chosen for their enthusiastic and reliable approach to school life. They are fantastic role models, and will help to coordinate the play leaders and lead playground activities for the whole school 😀 very well done 👏

NSPCC PANTS Week - 10th to 14th October 2022

We will be teaching our pupils the NSPCC’s, Talk PANTS rules through discussions and activities in assembly and in class.

PANTS stands for:

· Talk about secrets that upset you

· Speak up, someone can help

Our children have been paying their respects to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, after the sad news of her death yesterday. Flowers and candles have been laid by our Jubilee Tree in the playground.

We have talked about our feelings and that it is ok not to understand our emotions. We are now creating our own class Books of Condolences 🙏

Gracious God, we give thanks for the life of your servant Queen Elizabeth, for her faith and dedication to duty. Bless our nation as we mourn her death and may her example continue to inspire us; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
Congratulations to the children from St Peter’s who recently celebrated their First Holy Communion at Church. During this special event, they received the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. We pray for these children and their families as they continue to grow in their faith 🙏
