Dave & Tania Downie, Independent Budshead Community Campaigners A place to share concerns and keep updated on matters in Budshead Ward, Plymouth We have 4 children. I was a local Councillors for Budshead Ward., for 8 years.

About me - I am originally from Dunfermline, Fife, and moved to Whitleigh with my wife in 1999. Having lived in Whitleigh for over 20 years, I do feel passionate about the area. I am a qualified Youth and Community worker, and worked in the Whitleigh Youth Club when it was situated in Lancaster Gardens. I also set up an information and advice centre for young people which was based in the Community centre. I volunteered at Woodlands school when it was on its original site on Bodmin Road and was a parent governor at Whitleigh Community Primary school. I became involved with local politics, when my wife and i fought to keep local bus services in 2011, and was elected to council in 2014. In recent years, I completed a degree course in Business management and am a qualified teacher.

It's always disappointing to see the amount of litter that is dropped around our community. :(

Just for information, the huge collection of rubbish at Kendal Place has now been removed. Thanks again to Clean Our Patch CIC and all the volunteers.
There are some pipes waiting for a contractor to safely remove and fencing is in place surrounding this.

Tailyour Road/Hunters Close. Update on dropped kerbs- Email received today.

"I can confirm that a site visit took place and I have ordered a dropped crossing on the junction, slightly further into Hunter Close.
We have ordered many dropped crossings in the city so I am unsure when the works will take place, I will ask the contractor and get back to you."
