Tall ship from Gdynia to visit Plymouth this week
As part of our initiative to increase relations with Gdynia, we are very pleased to say that the second largest tall ship in the world – the ‘Dar Mlodziezy’ has accepted an invitation from the Lord Mayor to visit Plymouth next week.
She will arrive on September 16th and will stay in Plymouth Sound for 5 days before heading to Portugal. The date is made all the more significant as it was of course the date the Mayflower left Plymouth for the New World in 1620.

As you will note, the sail training ship, ‘Dar Mlodziezy’ (translates as ‘The Gift of youth’) is registered in Gdynia. At 109m overall length and at just over 62m tall, she is one of the 2 largest tall ships in the world.
Victor Dworznikowski and The Royal Western Yacht Club are honoured to have been asked to help with facilitating this visit, which has come about during our continuing work towards building a special relationship with Gdynia and its very strong offshore and oceanic racing community.
The ‘Dar Mlodziezy’ will be a sight not to be missed when she arrives in Plymouth Sound.
Happy to provide more information on request.
