💛 Value of the Term: Courage 💛
This term, we are focusing on courage—one of our core school values. At Salisbury Road, we love to celebrate the small everyday moments of bravery, whether that’s trying something new, sharing ideas, asking for help or keeping going when something feels tricky.
We’ll be encouraging children to think about:
✨ What makes me courageous?
✨ How can I overcome challenges?
We’re excited to see our children grow in confidence and resilience—and we can’t wait to share their fantastic examples of courage with you! 🌟

🌟 Plymouth Half Marathon Primary School's Challenge – What an Achievement! 🌟
We are incredibly proud of our amazing children who completed the last mile of the Plymouth Half Marathon Primary Schools Challenge this weekend! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
They showed fantastic determination, resilience and team spirit throughout – they really did us proud! 💙

A huge congratulations also to our brilliant staff runners:
👏 Miss Pearce and Mrs Burke, who completed the Plymouth 10K
👏 Mr Taylor, who ran the Half Marathon and then joined the children to complete their final mile – what an incredible effort!
And a big shout out to any of our parents and families who took part in the 10K or Half Marathon – we loved seeing our school community getting involved and supporting such a fantastic event.
Well done everyone – what a wonderful way to celebrate effort, perseverance and community spirit! 🎉

A huge well done to all of our Year 6 pupils for completing their SATs this week. We are incredibly proud of the determination, resilience and positive attitude you have shown throughout.

You have truly demonstrated our school values:

Aspiration – striving to do your very best and aiming high
Unity – supporting one another and working together as a team
You approached each challenge with confidence and maturity, and you should feel extremely proud of everything you have achieved.

Quad Kids
On Tuesday, eight children competed in a Quad Kids athletics event. They took part in:

75 metre sprint
600 metre run (one and a half laps of the track)
Long jump
Vortex throw

There were some excellent performances, including first and second place finishes. Just as impressive was the way our children encouraged not only each other, but competitors from other schools too. A real credit to Salisbury Road and our school values.

Cross Country
On Monday, 28 children from Years 4, 5 and 6 took part in a cross‑country competition at Lipson. The children represented our school brilliantly, showing unity and respect for one another throughout the mile‑long course. They encouraged and supported each other every step of the way and celebrated everyone’s achievements together.
It was fantastic to win some medals, but even better to see our children proudly wearing their blue SR PE shirts and representing Salisbury Road so positively.
