The importance of early diagnosis and support!
Each person with dyslexia will experience the condition in a unique way, and as such, each will have their own set of abilities and difficulties.
However, if you know what to look for, some common signs may suggest further investigation could be beneficial. If you would like to find out more about signs of visit: https://bit.ly/2MZskEO

Love this support shown for a dyslexic police officer 😊👍
We are aware of some comments on a recent post highlighting some grammatical errors. Whilst we accept the public would expect our posts to be accurate we will not be editing or correcting the post.
The officer that published the post PC 2705 is a dedicated officer and valued member of our Neighbourhood Policing Team, who strives to serve his community and make Cumbria safe. Prior to joining Cumbria Police he served his country with pride in the Armed Forces and since joining our team has worked tirelessly to support veterans and cadet groups. His grandfather also served as a Police Constable in what was then Cumberland and Westmorland Constabulary so he is proud to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps.
PC 2705 is also dyslexic, so writing these posts does not come naturally to him but he is keen to do so to highlight the excellent work he does on a daily basis to serve his community. The reason we will not be editing this post as we believe it highlights those with hidden disabilities who have to work hard on a daily basis to cope with them. We hope that PC 2705’s achievements serve as an inspiration to others and encourage them to follow their dreams 😊

HELP IN EXAMS 👇
Pupils who have learning difficulties and/or disabilities may qualify for help in exams such as extra time, provision of a computer, or a person to read or write for them.
If you think your child might need help in exams, we have info on our website about how you can get the right support in place – including a model letter you can use as a template for making a request: https://www.ipsea.org.uk/help-in-exams
Your child's school should apply for permission to put the support in place. It's best if the school applies before your child begins their exam course, but, for exams in June 2023, the deadline for applying for modified papers (for example papers printed in Braille) is 31 January and the deadline for all other arrangements is 21 March.

So sorry, but have had to close my waiting list again. It;s now stretching until October next year. I work part-time and do 3-4 assessments a month, but get on average 2 inquiries a day, so it's just not a sustainable situation. There's a shortage of assessors in this area and such a difficult situation for parents. You are still welcome to get in touch if you want me to give you details of other assessors.

Really sorry but I have had to close my waiting list. I have been overwhelmed with enquiries and am now booked up till the end of the year.
I understand that there are very few children's assessors in the Plymouth area and this is worrying and frustrating for parents.
I can give you a list of other assessors if you get in touch.
