This week has been wonderfully warm, and we’ve really enjoyed our time in the garden. The children had an amazing time splashing in the water while learning about bugs. They enhanced their fine and gross motor skills by watering our flowers with jugs and pouring water down the feature wall. It has truly been a week filled with joyful outdoor play!
We also continued exploring our 'transport' theme, which has captivated the children. Through various activities, we focused on developing their understanding of numbers and colours while listening to the different sounds transport makes.
Next week will be our final one before the summer holiday, so we’re planning a fun, messy, and creative week to celebrate before some of our toddlers transition to new rooms or settings.

This week, we’ve been delving into the exciting theme of Transport! The children are fully engaged as they explore different types of transport and learn about the roles of various emergency services. They've had a great time using paints, sand, and shaving foam for vehicle-inspired mark-making activities, making it a fun and creative experience. In the coming weeks, we’re looking forward to enjoying sunshine play and preparing some of our toddlers for their transition to the bigger room.

Last week, we engaged in some exciting activities! Continuing from our theme of 'things we may find in the city', the children showed a keen interest in vehicles. We explored various vehicles, learning about their functions and sounds. The children also enjoyed building and fixing different items, which allowed us to embrace our roles as builders. This hands-on experience has been wonderful for enhancing both our fine and gross motor skills, while also sparking their imagination.

This week in Toddler room our topic has been people who help us. This includes conversations about different emergency services and vehicles! Due to the warm weather this week we have been focusing on staying hydrated and the importance of suncream. Our Toddlers have been working on applying their own suncream with some support. Our main activity this week has been water and ice play to keep us cool. Ice play is a great activity for our toddlers as its a different sensory experience and it encourages the children to develop their fine motor skills such as grasping and scooping.🌞

This week in Toddler room, we have been focusing on the topic travel and transport as well as incorporating emergency services! Due to warmer weather approaching we have been talking about water safety. We have had many activities out this week such as the car wash. The car wash activity is a great way for our toddlers to gain a hands on sensory experience as well as developing their fine motor skills. This activity promotes imaginative play and develops their understanding of the world.

This week in the toddler room we are learning about 'things we find in a city' these are some of the activities we have been doing, we've been looking at the different colours that we see on traffic lights, learning 'ready, steady, go!'. We have also been looking at the different shaped buildings for example small houses and big towers so we have attempted to build our own.

We have loved this weeks topic and will continue this next week with more activities to get creative with and explore more with things we can find in Cities.

This week in preschool, the children have been exploring cities and their famous landmarks. They've had a lot of fun making their own landmarks with paper cups. Some loved recreating well-known ones from the wall, while others got creative with their own ideas. They've also been excited to learn about London, discovering the underground and using playdough to shape the landmarks displayed on the table. It's been a wonderful week of learning and creativity!

This week in the Toddler room our topic is vehicles! We have had many activities out this week for the children to explore such as painting with cars. By dipping the wheels in the paint and rolling the cars across the paper it encourages children to explore different textures and helps support and strengthen their fine motor skills. This activity also introduces children to cause and effect. This week we have focused on naming different vehicles as well as introducing traffic lights!
