Have you heard of the NSPCC PANTS rule? 🩲

The NSPCC’s PANTS campaign helps children understand that their bodies belong to them and teaches important messages about staying safe in a simple, age-appropriate way.

PANTS stands for:
🟒 Privates are private – The parts of your body covered by your underwear are private.

🟒 Always remember your body belongs to you – You have the right to say no to unwanted touch.

🟒 No means no – It’s okay to say no if something makes you feel uncomfortable.

🟒 Talk about secrets that upset you – Safe adults can help if something is worrying you.

🟒 Speak up, someone can help – Talk to a trusted adult if you feel unsafe or confused.

Teaching children these simple rules can help them understand boundaries, body safety, and how to seek help when needed.

KS1 have been working with acrylic paints this half term 🎨

Last week, they explored depicting still life objects in different ways. They began by drawing the objects using one continuous line and art pens. They drew what they could see, without lifting their pens, for ten minutes. After this, they explored colour and shape by tearing coloured, painted paper and used the different shapes to represent what we could see. Finally, they combined all of their work using acrylic paints to create an abstract, expressive painting.

It has been so lovely watching our KS1 enjoy the freedom of expressing themselves through art in their own individual ways πŸ§‘β€πŸŽ¨

By engaging with the Rail Safe Friendly programme and sharing this important information with our families, we have also received confirmation that we have achieved both their Bronze πŸ₯‰ and Silver awardsπŸ₯ˆ Well done everyone! πŸ’š

This week, our pupils took part in an important rail safety session through The Rail Safe Friendly Programme πŸš†

The children explored how to stay safe around railways, stations, level crossings, and train tracks. Through engaging activities and discussions, they learnt why railways can be dangerous, how to make safe choices and what to do if they ever find themselves in an unsafe situation near the railway.

Developing awareness of rail safety from a young age helps our pupils become confident, responsible, and safety-conscious members of the community πŸ’š

A big well done to all of our children for their thoughtful participation and excellent understanding of these important safety messages.

Our Reception children made boats! ⛡️

They went on a hunt for sticks for the base of their boat and for their mast. They then went on a hunt for the perfect leaf to be their sail. Once they had gathered these items, they used elastic bands to join their sticks together. This then allowed them to attach their mast and sail.

Once they had assembled their boats, they tested them in water. Some children chose to race their boats down some guttering! πŸ’š

🌊🐠 Our children had an amazing time taking part in the Happy By Nature Live Lesson today with WWF UK and the Ocean Conservation Trust!🦈✨

Broadcast live from the National Marine Aquarium and hosted by Steve Backshall, the interactive lesson gave pupils the exciting opportunity to explore ocean habitats and ecosystems from β€œunderwater” whilst learning about the importance of protecting our seas and marine life πŸŒπŸ’™

The children were fully engaged throughout, asking thoughtful questions and showing fantastic enthusiasm for learning about climate action and nature conservation as part of πŸͺΈπŸ¦ˆ

A wonderful experience that inspired curiosity, environmental awareness, and a love for our oceans! 🌊🐟
