🚨 Discover 3D Design at our upcoming Open Day on Saturday 3rd October! Book your place today via the link: https://www.plymouthcollege.com/admissions/open-days/

Last week, our Lower Sixth 3D Design pupils took their usual afternoon lesson to the National Marine Aquarium as part of their coursework on biomimicry lighting! 💡🌊

To gather essential primary research, pupils explored the aquarium to capture visual references through photography and on site sketches. This included fish, coral, and anemones, even sharks and stingrays, they recorded intricate forms, patterns, and textures that will directly inspire their final lighting creations back in the classroom. ✍️🐠

This visit also forms part of our school’s wider Ocean Literacy initiative. We are proud to work in closely with the Ocean Conservation Trust team, who make enriching experiences like this possible.

✨ Want to see how we bring learning to life beyond the classroom? Or perhaps you’re interested in a career in Marine Science?

Join us at our next Open Day to explore our creative facilities, meet our staff, and experience how we can support you with your aspirations.

Life at Plymouth College Sixth Form is about so much more than just the classroom. 🌊🏄‍♂️

We took nearly the whole year group down to the coast for a fantastic day of surfing, rugby, football, and cricket 🏈⚽️🏏 Beyond the sports, it was the spontaneous moments that stole the show including a sand octopus that had half the beach stopping to take photos! Very creative! 🐙📸

We topped it all off with food at the café and plenty of time to just hang out and catch up with new friends 🍔☕️

Our Sixth Form gives you the space to build real friendships, balance hard work with incredible outdoor opportunities, and make memories that can last a lifetime after life at Plymouth College.

Huge shout out to our pupil Monty and the U14 squad for an incredible performance at the inaugural European Gig Rowing Championships in July! The crew powered across Plymouth Sound to Mount Edgcumbe, leaving it all on the water and bringing home 1st place in their age category! 🏆🌊

We couldn’t be more proud of Monty's achievement.

✨ GET OUT ON THE WATER! ✨
Living right on Plymouth Sound gives us access to some of the best coastal and water sports opportunities in the country! A warm welcome to our new Pupils! 🏡✨

Yesterday, our boarding and school community grew as we welcomed our newest boarders to their new home away from home and our day pupils into our school community for the very first time. There was lots of unpacking and settling into rooms and making their very first school memories and friendships.

Our Boarding Community also took part in their first activity of the school year with a fun, friendly game of dodgeball. 😊 Keep an eye our for more boarding activities as the year progresses. 👀

We are so excited to see everyone thrive, build lifelong friendships, and make the most of every opportunity ahead as part of our wonderful school community located in the heart of Britain's Ocean City.

Welcome to the Plymouth College 💚👋
