HPA Creatives have been busy transforming their photographs from Dartmoor into small paintings, inspired by the work of local artists Mark Jessett and Alex Murdin. Working independently, the students explored shape and form within their images, building up layers of acrylic paint and fine liner to develop their final pieces.
Their work will be on display at the Ashburton Arts Centre during the May Day bank holiday celebrations as part of the Dartmoor Tors Festival.

Glen Park Primary has been taking part in the St Luke's Guiding Lights project. In February we held a competition across the school for the children to create a design for our school lighthouse. Last term, the children who created the winning entries have been working with Mrs Burstow to design and create our Glen Park entry. This contains elements of each of the children's designs in our final school design. We are so proud of their art work and think you will all agree that it is a fantastic piece of work!

This week’s Trail Trotters run took the group back to Haytor, where they finally uncovered the hidden quarry pool they had narrowly missed last time. Quiet and tucked away in the landscape, it revealed a small but lively scene, with a tiny fish and a couple of newts spotted along the way. As the season progresses, lily pads will soon arrive, transforming the pool’s character as spring gives way to summer.
This run marked the final outing of the half term. Special thanks to Joe, who continues to lead from the front with calm pace‑setting and positive energy. We’re looking forward to welcoming familiar faces back after Easter, along with a few new ones, for more trails, discoveries and muddy miles ahead!
