🐻 We’re Going on a Bear Hunt! 🌿

What a lovely day we had yesterday! We went on our very own Bear Hunt, linking our adventure to our story Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

The children had so much fun following the signs and looking carefully for clues along the way. We squelched through the mud, waved our arms as we walked through the long, wavy grass, and spun around as we imagined being caught in a swirling sandstorm! 🌱🌪️

The children were completely engaged and loved joining in with all the actions and sound effects. They especially enjoyed scanning the QR codes on our trail and discovering the sounds and pictures on our phones. It was wonderful to see their excitement, curiosity and imagination as they explored together.

This experience supported lots of EYFS learning, including:

🌱 Communication & Language – listening, following instructions and developing new vocabulary.

🏃 Physical Development – moving in different ways, developing coordination, balance and body awareness.

🎭 Expressive Arts & Design – using imagination, movement and sounds to bring the story to life.

🌍 Understanding the World – exploring the outdoor environment and using technology to investigate sounds and images.

🤝 Personal, Social & Emotional Development – building confidence, joining in with others and enjoying a shared experience.

It was such a fun-filled day of exploring, imagining, moving and learning together, and it was lovely to see how excited the children were throughout our adventure. 🐻❤️

We will build on the children’s enthusiasm for our Bear Hunt as we move into our October theme, exploring We’re Going on a Bear Hunt through sensory play, storytelling, movement, sounds and lots more outdoor adventures!Birts Bunch

🍁🥰Being a childminder is the best job in the world 🌍
People ask why choose a childminder now this has got to be one of the top reasons why……

Today we enjoyed a wonderful woodland adventure, exploring nature through our senses, language, creativity and physical play.

We introduced lots of new words including “crunchy” and “spiky”, encouraging the children to listen, repeat and use new vocabulary as they explored. We used our ears to listen carefully to the sounds around us and our eyes to look closely at what we could see, supporting their Communication and Language and understanding of the world.

🎨 We got creative using natural materials we found along the way, including cones, sticks and leaves, using them to make our own paintings. This encouraged the children to explore different textures and materials while developing their fine motor skills, creativity and expressive arts and design.

🔥 We also safely experienced the excitement of a woodland fire, enjoying sausages, garlic bread and yummy soup together. This provided opportunities for social interaction, developing independence and understanding how to enjoy food and mealtimes as part of a group.

🦔 We brought our learning to life through songs and movement — curling up like a hedgehog, spinning like a sycamore leaf 🍁 and jumping up and down like we were splashing in a puddle! This supported physical development, coordination, balance and imaginative play.

Throughout the morning, the children enjoyed playing alongside and interacting with their friends, while also having opportunities to explore and play independently. This supported their Personal, Social and Emotional Development, including confidence, relationships, independence and learning to enjoy experiences together.

Wonderful 5 weeks summer holiday club. We made friends, explored, laughed, made great memories and learnt new things skills along the way 🥰

First week of the summer holidays have been fun 🤩 saltrum, garden fun, Paignton zoo and mount edgecombe

What a wonderful term we have had! ☀️

This term we have enjoyed sharing the stories Pip and Posy Go to the Beach and The Very Hungry Caterpillar, linking them into our play and learning.

We have tasted lots of yummy fruit 🍇, made colourful patterns, and fluttered like beautiful butterflies. 🦋

Our beach-themed play has been so much fun! We have built sandcastles, jumped over the waves, and made lots of happy memories together each week.

We have also loved exploring our new playroom and garden. 🪴

This week we said a fond farewell to one of our friends as they begin their exciting new adventure at preschool. We wish them lots of luck and happiness. We are also looking forward to welcoming new friends who will be joining us in September.

A reminder: Kings and Queens will be closed from 19th July for a week of family time. We will reopen on 27th July, ready for lots of Summer Fun Holiday adventures! 🌞
