Short Breaks Autiswim Session

🏊‍♀️ Our weekly swimming sessions at Plympton Swimming Pool are becoming increasingly popular with autistic children and young people and their families.

These quieter, structured sessions provide a safe and supportive environment where families can enjoy swimming together. Carefully designed to be inclusive, welcoming and accessible, they're a great way to build confidence and have fun in the water.

♻️ Bottle Top Recycling Update ♻️

A huge well done to our KS4 learners, who have done an amazing job sorting all of the bottle tops at the end of term. This was no small task.

To help make future collections easier and ensure we can recycle as many bottle tops as possible, please refer to the handy guide kindly created by Caroline H. It shows exactly which bottle tops can be placed in the collection points.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us keep our recycling scheme running smoothly and successfully.

2,000 followers… thank you! 💚

Today we’ve reached an incredible milestone — 2,000 followers across our social media community!

While numbers aren’t what matter most, they reflect the growing interest in celebrating our amazing learners and recognising the dedication of our staff.

Our social media is about far more than sharing photographs. It offers a window into school life, celebrates success, raises awareness of SEND, showcases what’s possible for children and young people with complex needs, and strengthens the connections between our school and the wider community.

It also plays a vital role in supporting our fundraising efforts. By sharing our vision, projects and achievements, we’re able to reach more people who want to support our school. Every share, comment and interaction helps raise awareness and can lead to donations, sponsorships and community partnerships — all of which enable us to provide enhanced opportunities, improved resources and better facilities for our learners. Together, we’re creating experiences and environments that help every child and young person thrive.

To everyone who follows, likes, comments, shares our posts or champions our school — thank you. Your support is appreciated and helps us continue telling the Cann Bridge story.

Here’s to celebrating our learners, inspiring others, and showing what achieve together. Thank you for being part of our journey! 💚

What an incredible day celebrating the launch of the Cann Bridge School SEND Family Hub Satellite! 💚

It was wonderful to welcome so many families from Cann Bridge School, alongside families from across the local community, for an afternoon filled with fun, laughter and connection.

This special event marked the launch of our dedicated SEND Family Hub Satellite. As part of this exciting development, we have transformed and refurbished a new space within school, The Sky Room. When not being used by our learners as a calm, therapeutic environment, it will provide a welcoming space where families can access advice, guidance, information and support through our partnership with Plymouth Family Hubs. The hub will also offer opportunities for families to connect with services, professionals and one another, helping to build stronger networks of support.

We are excited to continue developing this provision to benefit not only our own families, but families from across Plymouth.

A huge thank you to everyone who made the afternoon so special:
🎪 Mark the Jester for his incredible circus skills and entertainment.
🍪 Leanne from Cook Stars Plymouth Central for the delicious gingerbread decorating.
🎶 Laura and Maggie Moo from Moo Music for bringing music, movement and smiles.
🎈 Zig Zag Children’s Entertainer for the magical show and fantastic balloon modelling.
🚑 Dartmoor Search and Rescue, the Community Builders, and William Noble, Labour Councillor for the Moor View Ward, for their support and for taking the time to join us.
❤️ Thank you to SEND Help Plymouth for attending and supporting the launch event.
💚 Our fantastic Family Hub team, together with Cann Bridge staff Maxine and Leanne, whose hard work, enthusiasm and commitment helped make the event such a success.

Finally, thank you to everyone who supported the event behind the scenes and to every family who came along. Your support and engagement made the launch a wonderful celebration of community, creativity and belonging.

This is just the beginning, and we can’t wait to see our SEND Family Hub continue to grow as a place where families feel welcomed, supported and empowered.

A huge thank you to Andrew (a parent of a pupil at the school) who works for Burcombe, who kindly gave up his Saturday morning to transport our new Forest School benches to school today. They were incredibly heavy, and we really appreciate him volunteering his time to help both Lee and Shane get these into place. Thanks Burcombe for supporting us.

This project has truly been a team effort from start to finish. Thank you to Lee for designing the development plan, Wendy for securing charitable funding, Dave for negotiating us a fantastic deal with Travis Perkins, Martin, our Caretaker, for cutting all the raw composite boards to size, and to Lee and Dave for assembling the benches. Finally, thank you to Andrew for delivering them safely to school.

We’re hopeful these benches will provide many years of use, allowing pupils from across the Tor Bridge Partnership site to enjoy an even better Forest School area.

We’re also incredibly grateful to Arborcure for donating a large quantity of bark. We hope to work with them again soon to supply more and complete the woodland pathways, further enhancing this fantastic outdoor learning space.

Thank you to everyone who gave up part of their Saturday to make such a positive and lasting improvement to our school facilities. Your generosity, teamwork and community spirit are greatly appreciated.
