🚜🌱 We were all surprised to see a tractor arrive at Cann Bridge School today, delivering a huge dumpy bag of compost!

10Cann have been working hard to complete their outdoor learning space, with exciting plans to grow for pleasure, grow to eat, and grow to sell. This generous donation will help bring their vision to life.

A huge thank you to Tony, our LA School Governor, for connecting us with South West Composting Ltd, who kindly donated and delivered the compost. Their support will also benefit other classes and our Science Garden.

Well done to all of the learners in 10Cann, who rolled up their sleeves and worked together to fill the planters. We can’t wait to see everything begin to grow! 🌼🥕🌿

🍰 💚 Thank a Teacher Day at Cann Bridge School 💚 🍰

As a proud Healthy School, we know that wellbeing is about balance – and today, we made a small exception to enjoy a well-deserved treat!

Leaders enjoyed delivering cakes around the school as a small token of gratitude to our incredible staff team in celebration of Thank a Teacher Day.

Every single day, our staff go above and beyond to support, inspire and champion our pupils, creating a nurturing environment where every child can thrive. Their dedication, compassion and unwavering commitment make Cann Bridge such a special place to learn and grow.

Today’s cakes are a small gesture, but our appreciation is enormous.

Thank you to our amazing Cann Bridge team – we are so proud of everything you do. 💚

We are excited to share an important next step in our English journey at Cann Bridge School.

As a progressive, learner-focused, aspirational and collaborative community, we are always reflecting on how we can provide the very best for our pupils. We know how important reading and writing are as fundamental life skills, preparing pupils for life beyond school. While we are proud of the strong foundations built through Monster Phonics and our carefully developed in-house English curriculum, we recognise that now is the right time to evolve further.

From September, we will be moving to Read Write Inc. as part of our continued commitment to strengthening our English provision and supporting every pupil to achieve their full potential.

This represents a significant investment in both resources and professional development. All staff will receive comprehensive training, ensuring a consistent, high-quality approach across the school. We are also looking forward to welcoming parents to workshops in the new academic year so we can work together to support our pupils’ reading and writing at home.

We are confident that this next step will take our offer to the next level and further enhance the progress and outcomes for all our learners.

📣 Have your child’s voice heard – take part in The Big Future survey

We’re encouraging all our families to support a national survey led by the Children’s Commissioner for England, Dame Rachel de Souza.

🗣️ “The Big Future” survey is an opportunity for children and young people to share their views, experiences and hopes directly with government – helping to shape future policies that affect them.

At a time of significant change, it’s more important than ever that young people’s voices are heard across every community.
✅ We’d love all our pupils (parent advocacy) to take part and make sure our school is represented.
✅ It only takes a short time to complete.
👉 Take part here: http://www.childrenscommissioner.gov.uk/thebigfuture

Schools with high participation may even be invited to a national Festival of Childhood to celebrate young people’s contributions 🎉
Thank you for supporting your child to have their say and make a difference. 💬
