Birts Bunch

Wow what a brilliant Easter hols we had at Birts Bunch holiday club . We got up close and personal with lots of Animals at Paignton zoo, enjoys some fun rides and soft play at woodlands and end the week with a trip to cothele where we had a big Easter egg hunt , follow the trail and the children played football and bubbles . Roll on May head term xx

As you can see we have had a very busy March especially as the weather got better . In March we looked at the story book "three little pigs" the children loved building house with different resources and pretending to be a wolf and knock it down . They also used Playdough to make house and pigs faces . We also went on trips to the aquarium and zoo where we saw lots of animals up close. As the weather was nice we went out to discover spring, the children loved looking at the changes and talking about the flowers . We went to the physical playgroup where the children loved to jump, climb and explored .

Well February was a busy month at Birts Bunch, we looked at the story book "What ever next" where baby bear use a box to make a rocket and go into space. We had our owe box rocket which the children loved, we talked about the moon and the planets , the children learnt that we live on planet Earth. The children used shapes to make there own rocket out of play dough and magnetic shapes . We also discovered a new play group which is all about physical play there the children learnt to jump, climb and balance. We went on trips to Dartmoor zoo as well as the aquarium. Where the children were lucky enough to see all the animals.

In January our book was the Gruffalo, we were very lucky enough to go saltram find him and other characters from the story. We also played with the doctors and dentist toys to help make the Gruffalo toys better . The children used peas and spaghetti hoop to make the Gruffalo eyes and poisonous wart, they also played with play dough. The children loved looking at the story of the Gruffalo with there friends. We have also been learning to recognise our name and trying to learn to write them . The children have loved dancing and sing with the pom pom and rainbow ribbon. When it hasn't rain we manage to get a visit to Dartmoor zoo ,we also went to the aquarium. X x

December at Birts Bunch was all about Christmas. We went on the santa train at Trago mill, we used sensory toys to make Christmas trees , we had our Christmas party with 40 of our childminder friends where Father Christmas came and visited us. We play with lots of Christmas toys and the older children read Christmas story to the younger ones . We also went to saltram to find the Gruffalo. Birts Bunch is now closed for Christmas, I just want to say thank you to everyone for all your support and for my lovely Christmas present. We will see everyone in the new year. In November it was national nursery rhythm month, we did lots of activities around many other our favourite nursery rhythm, like humpty dumpty, incey wincey spider, head,shoulders knees and toe , miss Holly had a dollies, little bow peep , row row your boat . The children loved this month topic . We also went on trips to I town, aquarium, soft play and saltram.

Wow October has been another busy month for us at Birts Bunch. We have been looking at the story book "Dear Zoo" . We have talked about where different animals come from, what type of pets we have. We have been on a trip to the zoo as well . We have also continue to look at Autumn and exploring the outside and talking about pumpkins, leaves and trees . As it was Halloween this month we had a party with our friend where we got to explore lots of different texture and we made some potions.It was half term this month and we went to cothele to see scarecrows, Pennywell to look at pumpkins, woodlands. Xx

In September we looked at the story "Goldilocks and the three bears " . The children loved looking at the book with there friends and playing with the bears and there house . We also went on trips to aquarium and pennywell. The children also looked at the changes in the weather and we talked about Autumn . X

So Birts Bunch is now on holiday, but we have had a brilliant summer holidays . We have been to woodlands, Pennywell, cothele, steam train , beach, mount edgcombe and decory park . Roll on September when we have a new little one starting with us xx

So in July we continue to look at the story of the hungry caterpillar , we went strawberry picking again and explore some insect and bug . As the weather was nice we went to the park and played with the water as well as doing some outside sleeping . We also said good bye to little boys who will be missed lots . We went on trips to woodlands and pennywell farm as well as the zoo . X

We had a busy month in June , we look at the story the hungry caterpillar. The children loved this book , they liked feeding the caterpillar, using the vets to make his tummy feel better. We also went to the butterfly farm to see some real butterfly. As the weather was nice we went to the beach as well as mudpie. X
