Celebrating 10 Years of Dave at Skills Group! 🎉

This month, we are celebrating an incredible 10 years of dedication, passion and commitment from Dave Moore!

Dave is one of our talented Plastering & Interior Systems Tutors, delivering training across our apprenticeship programmes as well as our full-time Plastering courses, helping young people develop the practical skills, knowledge and confidence they need to progress into the construction industry.

Dave’s role goes far beyond delivering his trade knowledge. He provides CSCS Trainer support, helping learners achieve their site cards and take those important steps towards a career in construction. He also delivers Asbestos Awareness and Health & Safety training, ensuring our learners are equipped with the essential knowledge they need to stay safe and work confidently on site.

One of Dave’s greatest strengths is the relationships he builds. He works closely with employers, keeping them updated on the progress of their apprentices and making sure everyone is working together to support the learner’s development and success.

“And the results speak for themselves… Dave has an exceptional track record of high achievement rates across all the courses he delivers, demonstrating the knowledge, dedication and passion he brings to every learner.”

That outstanding achievement is a real credit to Dave’s hard work, knowledge and passion for seeing learners succeed. He consistently goes above and beyond, supporting learners through challenges, encouraging them to reach their potential and helping them take the next step in their careers.

Dave is also someone who is always willing to adapt. His flexible approach to change and his commitment to working as part of a team make him a valued colleague and an important part of the Skills Group family. He is always ready to support those around him and share his knowledge and experience.

Over the last 10 years, Dave has helped countless young people take their first steps into the construction industry, giving them not only the practical skills and qualifications they need, but also the confidence to believe in themselves.

💙 Dave truly is one in a million.

Congratulations, Dave, on an amazing 10 years with Skills Group!

Thank you for your hard work, dedication and the positive difference you make to our learners, employers and colleagues every single day. Here’s to many more years!

☀️ Summer Vibes at Skills Group! ☀️

Friday was our Staff Appreciation Day, and what a fantastic way to round off the week! 💙 It was the perfect opportunity to say thank you to our incredible team for their hard work, dedication, and commitment throughout the year.

From a hilarious Scavenger Hunt, which had us searching high and low and finding staff in some very unexpected (and very funny!) places, to line dancing, karaoke, games, great music, and a delicious barbecue, there was something for everyone to enjoy. It was the perfect opportunity to relax, recharge, and spend quality time together.

We also celebrated our fabulous Sarah as she started her maternity leave, giving her the best baby shower and send-off! 💗 There were incredible gifts for both the expectant mum and baby, along with baby bingo and plenty more fun games. It was a wonderful way to celebrate this exciting new chapter, and we wish Sarah all the very best as she prepares to welcome her little girl. 💕

We are also incredibly proud that, through the generosity and support of our team, we raised an amazing £809 for St Luke's. 💙 This total, combined with funds raised from our recent Midnight Walk, made the achievement even more special. Thank you to everyone who took part, donated, and helped us support such a fantastic local charity that does so much for our community.

At Skills Group, we truly believe that Together We Thrive – supporting one another, celebrating our successes, and creating opportunities to connect beyond the workplace.

A huge thank you to Hungry Hog for providing the delicious BBQ – it certainly went down a treat! We would also like to thank Daniel Hampton Jones, our Functional Skills Team Lead, for providing the fantastic music, karaoke, and for entertaining us all with his brilliant singing! 🎶🎤 His efforts helped create such a fun and memorable atmosphere.

A special thank you also goes to Annette Davey for all her help in organising and supporting the day, helping to make our Staff Appreciation Day such a success. 💙

Here's to teamwork, appreciation, laughter, celebrations, and creating more amazing memories together! ☀️

Today we start our celebrations as we say a temporary goodbye to our wonderful Functional Skills Tutor, Sarah, as she begins her maternity leave ahead of the arrival of her baby girl. 👶🎀

To celebrate this exciting new chapter, we surprised Sarah with a pink baby shower filled with lots of love, laughter, and well wishes from the team. 💕 We can’t wait to meet the newest little addition and wish Sarah all the happiness as she prepares to become a mum.

The celebrations are about to begin as we combine Sarah’s baby shower with our “Together We Thrive!” wellbeing social, a fantastic celebration featuring music, BBQ food, games, and time to enjoy together as a team. ☀️🎶🍔

It’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate our amazing people, enjoy some downtime, and create some special memories together.

What a fantastic way to celebrate the end of term for our SEND HUB learners!

Our learners enjoyed a fun-filled duck pin bowling session to mark the end of an incredible year of achievement and personal growth.
Over the past year, they have worked hard to achieve Diplomas in Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development, gained Functional Skills qualifications, and completed valuable work experience placements.

Alongside these qualifications, every learner has made significant progress towards their personal goals, building confidence through travel training, developing greater independence, strengthening life skills, and improving their money management skills. Every milestone achieved is another step towards a brighter, more independent future.

A huge congratulations to every one of our learners we couldn't be prouder of everything you have accomplished.
This is just the beginning of your journey, and we are so proud to have been part of it.
