A MASSIVE thank you to Ben at Easy Cars Plymouth for the £300 donation. It is genuinely so refreshing to see the local community behind us. Ben called us this afternoon and backed what we're doing and offered to help in more ways than just a donation, a truly humble human being. Ben was really keen to understand what we do and help us, to help the community.

We are launching a SHINE THE LIGHT campaign where local businesses donating to our cause will have their company logo printed alongside the others supporting us on all of our Kit, proudly showing them off when we're delivering our work across the community and education settings, alongside a community supporter article on our website dedicated to your business. we have 3 other businesses next to go on, but we need more!

Could your business help, and get involved? we'd love to hear from you.

Lets not forget why we do this. Up to 496 gambling related su***des each year. 496 too many. Lets make gambling harm prevention accessible for EVERYONE in our community.

Morning thoughts with the little guy this morning💭💭

The most difficult and dangerous day for any gambling addict is just around the corner, PAYDAY. Let’s talk about it.

28/09/2026

EXTREMELY rusty at voiceovers but apparently the way to keep the socials “modern” is by doing a day in the life.

Crazy when you look at a 12/13 hour day condensed into 90 seconds but we’ve got some really exciting and important stuff to share with you all over the next week or so.

Thank you all for the support so far! This is just the start.

A huge thank you to Councillor Tess Blight - Eggbuckland Ward for her donation of £100 to our fundraiser, tackling gambling addiction and raising awareness in the next generation. We’ve been in communication with a lot of local councillors, it’s particularly refreshing to see a councillor take community wellbeing seriously, and even donate personally when their grant is used for the year.

Regardless to the communities political party affiliations, it’s important to share the positives that individuals are doing. Our mission is prevention, education and recovery, making Plymouth a more accessible place for gambling related support.

THIS IS WHAT COMMUNITY SPIRIT LOOKS LIKE. 💚

A huge thank you to Post Office Inn Hoppy sports Plymouth and RBL Plympton for supporting The Prevention Project CIC and agreeing to have one of our donation pots on their premises.

Big love to Ink & Sins Tattoo for their donation also!

These businesses have chosen to stand behind something that matters — helping us raise funds to deliver free gambling-harm prevention, education and recovery support across Plymouth.

Also, a HUGE thank you to a well know local business (who I should out but wont) who replied to us asking if they’d place a donation pot by saying “No chance, everyone has problems tell them to get on with it” for increasing the burning desire for what we do. Up to 497 people a year commit su***de because of gambling addiction and the stigma around it, I will not be telling anyone to “get on with it”

We are there for you. I’ve been there, I wanted out but I made it through, you can too.

It might be a donation pot on a counter, but it represents something much bigger.

It says that local businesses are willing to stand alongside their community and help us tackle the stigma around gambling addiction, start conversations earlier and give young people the opportunity to understand gambling harm before it becomes their reality.

So genuinely — thank you. Your support means a lot to us.

If you’re a local business with a shop, office, club, venue or premises and you’d be willing to host a TPP donation pot, we’d love to hear from you.

You don’t need to be a big company. You don’t need to raise hundreds.

A small pot. A small donation. A much bigger difference.

Just over a week ago we launched across Plymouth Argyle academy, and to be honest the interactions we’ve had since then have taken off 🚀🚀

We’re unbelievably lucky to have a club who put player care and community wellbeing first.

Over the next few weeks there’s going to be a LOT more coming your way from different organisations we’re going into, delivering our workshops and helping to equip the next generation with the tools to understand the REAL impacts of gambling addiction.

Many of you will have seen our crowdfunder launch yesterday, we’re currently operating way beyond capacity and there’s so much more to be done, and it will be done! If you’re able to, we are grateful for any donations even a £1 gets us 50p in additional funding on top!

A HUGE step for our funding — and we need Plymouth behind this.

Since launching The Prevention Project CIC, we've received more than 100 enquiries from people looking for help, support, education or information around gambling harm, and we’ve reached a point where we need to scale faster than we are currently.

what's really stood out to us is the growing number of schools, colleges and local organisations getting in touch because they're seeing gambling, betting, gaming and gambling-style spending becoming an increasing concern within their settings.

They want to bring us in. They want their young people to have these conversations. They recognise the importance of prevention.

But many simply don't have the budget.

We've heard the same message repeatedly: "We'd love to bring you in, but we just don't have the budget."

That's why we've launched a £15,000 Crowdfunder to deliver one full year of free gambling-harm prevention across Plymouth.

There's also a huge opportunity to make the funding go further.

We've launched this with a fund match to the Plymouth City Change Fund, which could ADD up 50% of our £15,000 target — potentially £7,500 of additional funding on top.

That means this campaign could help unlock even more funding for gambling-harm prevention across Plymouth.

The funding will allow us to take our lived-experience-led workshops into schools, colleges and community settings, covering gambling, betting, gaming, loot boxes, online spending, social media, influencers, advertising, risk and the warning signs of harm. Where someone is already struggling, we'll also provide a route into free 1-to-1 gambling recovery support.

This isn't a campaign we've started without knowing whether there is a need for it. The demand is already there. More than 100 enquiries since launching, alongside schools and organisations actively asking us for sessions.

There's an important part we want everyone to understand.

This is an All-or-Nothing campaign. We need to reach the full £15,000 target. If we don't, the project receives £0 and individual supporters have their pledges refunded.

So we have one clear goal: reach £15,000, unlock the potential match funding and deliver a full year of free prevention across Plymouth.

If you can support the campaign, we'd be incredibly grateful. If you can't donate, sharing this with your friends, family, colleagues, schools, clubs and organisations across Plymouth could make a huge difference.

And if you're a school, college, sports organisation, youth setting or community organisation that has been looking for this type of education but hasn't had the budget, please get in touch.

The demand is there. Now we need to create the opportunity to meet it.

GAMBLING ISN’T JUST SOMETHING YOU HAVE TO “GET OVER”.

If gambling has started to take over your life, your money, your relationships, your headspace — or you simply feel like you're losing control — we want you to know that you can talk to us.

At The Prevention Project CIC, we provide free 1-to-1 gambling recovery support for people who are struggling with gambling.

📍 Face-to-face recovery in Plymouth
We have a dedicated respite room where you can sit down with someone, privately, away from the noise, and actually talk.

💻 1-to-1 support via Teams
If you're not in Plymouth, or getting to us isn't possible, we can meet virtually.

And here's what makes our recovery support different.

We're not counsellors in suits.

We're people who understand gambling addiction because we've lived it.

We've experienced the secrecy.
The chasing.
The lies.
The financial damage.
The shame.
The feeling of being trapped.
The promises to stop.
And the feeling of starting again.

That lived experience matters.

People tell us they get something from speaking to someone who actually understands gambling addiction from the inside.

There's no judgement.
No lectures.
No pretending you should have just stopped.

Just a safe, honest conversation with someone who understands what you're talking about.

Gambling addiction can be incredibly hidden. You can look completely fine on the outside while everything is falling apart underneath.

And too many people struggle in silence because they don't know where to turn — or don't feel understood by traditional services.

You don't have to wait until everything has fallen apart before asking for help.

If you're struggling with gambling, or you're worried about someone close to you, get in touch with The Prevention Project CIC.

You don't need the right words.

You don't need to have stopped gambling.

You don't need to have everything figured out.

Just start the conversation.
