WESTON MILL, huge thanks to Bob Cook for donating the scans of his “Worth” to CyberHeritage. Many of you will associate the name “Worth” with his definitive book on Dartmoor called Worth’s Dartmoor yet he was a very keen local and very able photographer.

Yesterday our Village Bee Keepers have been popping on some protection from Asian Hornets!
Just in time as THE FIRST SIGHTING IN PLYMOUTH happened yesterday and Plymouth Branch - Devon Beekeepers’ Association have notified us all this morning.
In the comments on this post will be a picture of what to look out for. I will also post a link to the to the handy app you can download as well.
Please can you all keep an eye out. At this time of year, a single hornet is likely to be a queen establishing her nest and foraging to feed her young, but workers will soon be appearing and activity will increase.

I’m sure you will join me in congratulating two of our residents on the newest member of the village.
The first baby to be actually born in Weston Mill Village in a few generations I would imagine.
