Last Friday, Firestone and Mayflower went to Dartmoor zoo to find out more about the animals that live in Kenya. We had two very interesting workshops were the zoo keepers were very impressed with our knowledge. We then had time to look around at the animals. It was a very enjoyable trip where we learnt lots more about the animals from Kenya. π¦π―π΅

Mount Batten Class have started a new Maths topic this week. We are going to be learning all about shapes. We began by looking at turns before moving on to angles. We established that a quarter turn is a right angle. Then, we took our right-angle measurers around the classroom to find examples of right angles. They are everywhere! π¨πΊπ’π·

In PSHE, Mayflower have been exploring the importance of showing appreciation and giving and receiving compliments. The children drew pictures of special people in their lives and wrote thoughtful compliments around them. It was wonderful to see the kindness and positivity they shared, with many children choosing to complement their friends in the class.
