This week, Foundation and Preschool have had lots of fun baking! The children made delicious “ice cream” cupcakes and loved taking part in every step of the process. They carefully weighed the ingredients, mixed everything together, and decorated their cupcakes beautifully. The best part of all was getting to eat their tasty creations at the end!

Our Year 6 pupils enjoyed a well-deserved McDonald’s treat today after completing their SATs! 🍟🎉We are so proud of how hard every single child worked during their tests; they showed determination, resilience and a fantastic attitude throughout. A huge thank you to McDonald’s at Plymstock for their support in helping us organise this special treat, and to our amazing PTA for kindly funding it. Your generosity made it a memorable celebration for the children! Well done, Year 6—you’ve earned it! 👏🌟

Year 4 have had a fantastic day at the beach! They were expert scientists using classification keys to identify animals they found whilst stream dipping and then did a super job cleaning the beach of any litter they could find. The children loved playing in the sand and the stream, making sandcastles and looking for shells and interesting rocks ☀️ 🌊 🐚

✨ Messy clothes matter in EYFS ✨

Learning isn’t always tidy — and that’s okay! 💛

Sand on clothes can show cooperation and sharing with friends 🏖️
Wet patches often come from exploring capacity and volume 💧
Paint marks are signs of creativity and self-expression 🎨
Spills and drips can show growing independence when pouring drinks or using cutlery 🍽️

Every mark, stain, and splash tells a story of learning through play, exploration, and discovery.

In EYFS, messy play supports confidence, curiosity, problem-solving, creativity, and independence — because children learn best when they can fully explore the world around them.

Mess matters. Play matters. Learning matters. ✨

Year 5 have had a wonderful day in the sunshine at PGL, making memories with their friends. They have been den building, fire lighting, canoeing, giant swinging, orienteering and playing disc golf! They are looking forward to a silent disco this evening, and (hopefully!) a good sleep before their last day tomorrow.
