What a fantastic Sports Day!
There was such a brilliant atmosphere from start to finish, with our children giving every event their all, showing determination, teamwork and brilliant sportsmanship.
It was wonderful to see so many parents and families cheering the children on and joining in with the fun. Our parent and toddler races were a real highlight and created such a lovely sense of community.
A special mention must also go to our pupils, who received compliments from the ice cream van staff about their impeccable manners β something that made us incredibly proud.
We have lots more photos and videos to share over the coming days, but we just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped make today such a success.
Days like today really remind us what a special place Oakwood is.

What a fantastic way to celebrate!
This evening, our 100% attendance pupils and our Attendance Gold Ticket winners enjoyed a well-deserved trip to the bowling alley. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces, lots of laughter and a little friendly competition.
We are incredibly proud of our pupils for their commitment to coming to school every day and for the positive attitudes they show throughout the year. Their hard work and dedication deserve to be recognised and celebrated.
A huge well done to all of our winners, and thank you to our staff for helping to make it such a special event. We hope everyone had a brilliant time!

This afternoon, Mayflower Class created a whole class piece of art. We drew some of the human and physical features of Kenya and used pastels to colour it in. The children did a fantastic job at working as a team.

Our Year 5 and 6 pupils had a fantastic day immersing themselves in 1940s Britain for our WWII Day. They dressed as evacuees, peeled vegetables, created model Anderson Shelters, painted Blitz landscapes, made soldier medals, learnt how to play Cats Cradle, made cucumber sandwiches, played hopscotch, wrote about WWII on tea-stained paper and created war themed scratch art pictures. The children beamed with excitement all day and we hope it's an experience they will never forget!

Today, we celebrated our wonderful Year 6 pupils at their Leavers' Assembly. It was a fantastic afternoon filled with smiles, laughter, proud moments and a few happy tears as we recognised achievements and the unique qualities they've brought to our school.
The assembly ended with a heartfelt song that had everyone reminiscing about their time with us and looking ahead to the future.
From dreams of studying criminal law, engineering and becoming a pilot, to ambitions of bus driving and window cleaning, it was a lovely reminder that every aspiration is worth celebrating.
We are so proud of each and every one of our Year 6 pupils and can't wait to see where their journeys take them.

This week in Year 6 maths, we learned how to draw Archimedean spirals. It was a fantastic opportunity to combine mathematical precision with creativity, and everyone enjoyed creating these fascinating spiral patterns.
