Don’t forget that tomorrow is the official launch event of the Laira Green Primary Satellite Family Hub, delivered in partnership with Barnardo’s! Come along to discover the fantastic support, activities, and resources available for families in our community. Meet the Banardo’s team, explore the hub, and enjoy fun activities including a bouncy castle, and face painting for the children. Our PTA will also be there selling ice creams.

Today in year 6 we were joined by a magistrate who taught us all about the criminal justice system. We were amazed to find out that magistrates are volunteers! The children asked lots of thoughtful and reflective questions. Well done year 6! 💚

In today’s DT lesson, Year 1 practised important food preparation skills. The children learned how to safely use a fork to hold food while cutting, use a table knife to cut soft foods, and use a juicer to extract juice from fruit. They followed instructions carefully and worked safely throughout the lesson. The children also enjoyed tasting different fruits and thinking about the ingredients they would like to add to their own smoothies. Great job, Year 1! 💚

Year 2 are looking forward to their Big Sing event at Lipson Cooperative Academy tomorrow afternoon. Please ensure the children have a raincoat with them for the walk. We will be back at school in time for the end of the day. 💚

Year 2 have been learning about contractions in their spelling lessons this week. We had a great time using flip flaps to help us! Now it's time to use them in our writing! 💚

5LS had lots of fun with Braydon and Will today as part of our Babcock workshops. First, we learned about the job of a community manager. We were given a budget and had to attempt to organise a fundraising event. We then played lots of games involving working as a team.💚
