In Rudolph (Reception) Class, during our play, we've been exploring and experimenting with shape! We've created pictures using a range of new shapes on our tappy boards, cut out bear heads to help us retell our Golidlocks story using circle shapes and even made pizza using triangles with playdough! This week in Steinem Class (Year 2), we spent some time recapping our number bonds to 10 and 20. We used multi-link cubes to build towers of 10 so we could split them into two groups to visually see the bonds. Once we were ready we moved on to number bonds to 20 using the same method. In order for us to learn about volume and capacity this week, we used rice! We had containers of all different shapes and sizes and used words like 'full,' 'nearly full' and 'empty' to describe the amount we had. We scooped and poured to share rice between our friends.
