Welcome to Hamilton Class’ foot spa! We thought we needed some refreshing water and sweet smelling oranges to help us stay cool on this super hot day.

In order for us to learn about volume and capacity this week, we used rice! We had containers of all different shapes and sizes and used words like 'full,' 'nearly full' and 'empty' to describe the amount we had. We scooped and poured to share rice between our friends. What a busy start to our week in Hamilton Class!

Hamilton Class are exploring space after reading the story 'Whatever Next.' We used magnifying glasses to spot planets and other space features before writing labels using careful phonics on post-it strips to say what we saw.

This week Hamilton Class are thinking about number bonds to 10. We're using a range of manipulatives (including our fingers) to calculate and recall them. Ask me to tell you a calculation that I can remember at home...

Hamilton Class are busy sorting and comparing this week. We decided that items can be sorted many different ways including by colour, type and shape. We grouped many different manipulatives together before sorting by colour with a partner and comparing the quantities we both had. Take a look at our busy Maths!

The sun is out and so are Hamilton Class!
This morning we've made lemonade with real lemons, fixed scooters with our tools, chalked on blackboards, moved carefully around obstacle courses and taken shade in the reading shade. Take a look at us enjoying the day!

It’s shapes this week in Hamilton Class! Now we know the names of lots of 2D shapes we thought it would be good to create pictures and new shapes out of those we already know! We even made new shapes by folding paper in different ways. Take a look at our busy work!

The rain doesn’t stop us in Hamilton Class! Today we had a scooter wash with warm soapy water, an orange juice station where we transported water down chutes, potions with different colours in and experimented with how quickly balls can travel down pipes in our garden. Wow - we have been busy!

After learning all about the three little pig's houses, Hamilton Class decided to write sentences about our own houses. Look at our amazing phonics!

Maps! Hamilton Class are thinking about maps this week so we decided to create our own. We used careful cutting to cut around tracks for road and paths, drew large shapes on paper stuck to tables to map out different areas of our class and some of us created maps to help us navigate our outside area.
