Today, we celebrate World Teachers’ Day, a day dedicated to teachers around the globe and the incredible difference they make in children’s lives. 🌍💙

At EduArt Tuition & Mentoring, we believe that learning is supported by many wonderful people.

So today, we are celebrating not only teachers, but all our amazing parents, tutors, student tutors and club mentors who give their time, knowledge, encouragement and care to support our children. 🌟

✏️📚🎨 NEW AT EDUART – ENGLISH LANGUAGE & DRAWING CLUB 🎨📚✏️

We are delighted to introduce a new and creative approach to supporting children who find English, spelling, reading or writing challenging. 🌱

Our English Language & Drawing Club has been developed by Tutor Luiza, combining English language learning with drawing, creativity and visual learning.

🏆 Tutor Luiza is the winner of the Plymouth Youth Awards 2025 – Arts & Culture Award, and we are delighted to bring her creativity and experience into this new EduArt programme.

Together, we have developed a curriculum designed to help children see it, say it, draw it, understand it and use it. 💡

The sessions will support children with:

✏️ Spelling and phonics
📖 Reading and comprehension
📝 Writing and sentence construction
🔤 Vocabulary development
🗣️ Confidence in using English
🎨 Drawing and visual learning
💭 Creative expression and communication

Rather than simply memorising words, children will explore language through drawing, storytelling, vocabulary, phonics and practical activities, helping them build stronger connections and greater confidence.

🌱 A different way to learn.
🎨 A creative way to remember.
📚 A supportive way to build confidence.

🧮✨ Meet Lizzie, Our Little Maths Genius! ✨🧮
Happy Hoglets Nursery

At just 3 years and 7 months old, Lizzie is already confidently working on 4–5-year-old Early Years Maths! 🌟🔢

If we had a prize for homework dedication and enthusiasm, Lizzie would certainly be one of our stars! 🏆💛😍

Last week, she proudly received her new Maths book… and after just one week, she has already worked her way through almost the entire book! 📚✏️

There are only a few questions left!
At only 3 years and 7 months, seeing her sit down, concentrate, practise and keep going is simply amazing. 🌟

It isn't just about completing pages, it's about developing confidence, curiosity, independence and a love of learning from such a young age. 🧠❤️

🕐✨ TODAY IN OUR MATHS TUTORING CLASS – TELLING THE TIME! ✨🕐

Telling the time is a huge topic for primary school children, and not always an easy one!
Although understanding time is an essential part of everyday life and mathematics, it can sometimes receive surprisingly little dedicated teaching time in school.

So today at EduArt Maths Tutoring, we went back to the very beginning. 💡

Before learning how to read the time, we first made sure we understood the clock itself:
🕰️ What is an analogue clock?
📱 What is a digital clock?
🔢 What do the numbers 1–12 represent?
〰️ What are all those little lines around the clock?
⏱️ What does each little line represent in minutes?
👉 What is the short hand?
👉 What is the long hand?
🔄 Which hand moves faster — and why?
🕐 What do hours and minutes actually mean?

We discovered that there is much more to a clock than simply looking at the numbers! 😊

Once the children understood the structure of the clock face, we could begin connecting it to minutes past, minutes to, o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to, building the understanding step by step.

📚 In maths, we believe that understanding comes before memorising.

When children understand why something works, they are much more confident using that knowledge in different situations.

⏰ And that's exactly what we are working on, building strong mathematical foundations, one concept at a time.

🌟 A LITTLE EINSTEIN MOMENT AT OUR MATHS CLUB! 🧠✨

Yesterday at our Maths Club, our little 5-year-old Oscar came in with a very interesting mathematical thought on his mind…

He was thinking about π × 12. 🤯

But what really made us smile was:

“Where did he even get this idea from?” ❤️

Because this is what fascinates us about children: their little brains do not stop! 🧠✨
They are constantly wondering, connecting ideas, testing possibilities and making their own mathematical connections.

Oscar confidently worked out his answer, and he was so quick that Mum immediately reached for her phone to check whether he had got it right.

HE HAD IT RIGHT! 👏👏👏

And there is even more to this little moment…

Although Oscar is only 5 years old, he is already exploring mathematical concepts and working across areas typically encountered within KS1 and KS2. 🌟

But for us, it is not only about how quickly he can think of an answer.

We are also helping Oscar develop the confidence to put his mathematical thinking onto paper, using carefully chosen Maths books and written questions that challenge him at the right level. 📚✏️

This allows him to practise reading a question, understanding what is being asked, working it out independently and recording his answer clearly.

Because a child who can think mathematically at a high level also needs to feel confident when faced with a page of questions.

We want Oscar to be able to say:

“I can do this.” ❤️

And that is so important.

🌱 Children like Oscar need opportunities to go beyond what is simply expected for their age.
They need adults who notice their interests, encourage their questions, challenge them appropriately and give them space to develop their potential.

✨ Gifted and highly able children are amazing, and they deserve to be supported too.

At EduArt, we don't believe children should be put into boxes simply because of their age.

We look at the child in front of us, their curiosity, their interests, their strengths, their confidence and their potential.

We choose resources according to the child's ability and stage of learning, rather than simply their age, so that children can be challenged without becoming overwhelmed.

Because it is not just about getting the answer right.

It is about developing curiosity, confidence, independence, reasoning and a genuine love of learning. 🧠❤️

And sometimes, a little 5-year-old walks into Maths Club with a question that makes all the adults stop and think…

“Wow… where did THAT come from?” 😄✨

That is the magic of little minds. 🦔💙

🌸🧮 A LITTLE GLIMPSE INTO OUR MATHS CLUB 🧮🌸

Yesterday, our Maths Club was full of concentration, curiosity, questions, encouragement and lots of little moments of “I can do this!” 🦔❤️

We like to think of our Maths Club as a beautiful flower bouquet 💐, every child is different, growing at their own pace, with their own goals and strengths.

At the moment, our little mathematicians are following different learning pathways:

This week

📘 SATs preparation, developing fluency, reasoning and problem-solving skills.

🎯 11+ potential, for children who are beginning to show the skills and confidence that may support future 11+ preparation.

📖 KS1 11+ style questions, for children who are just beginning to have a gentle taste of this type of challenge.

🌱 Our Nursery little learners are developing strong mathematical foundations and, for some, already working above their expected age level, engaging with learning at a 4–5-year-old level. 👏🧮

Through numbers, patterns, reasoning and playful problem-solving, they are building confidence, curiosity and a genuine love for maths. 🦔❤️

The wonderful thing is that these pathways can grow in parallel.
We can challenge children appropriately while making sure they continue to enjoy maths, develop confidence and strengthen their reasoning, problem-solving and mathematical thinking.

Behind every child is a whole team working together supporting, encouraging, explaining, challenging and celebrating progress. ❤️

Our goal is simple: to help every child believe in their mathematical ability and achieve their very best. 🌟
