๐ Rising Tides Festival ๐
What a fantastic weekend!! I had the ABSOLUTE pleasure of being invited to not only facilitate my Q***r Ecology Workshop but to also be a speaker on a panel discussing all things LGBTQIA+ in Surf and Conservation! ๐โโ๏ธ๐ณ๏ธโ๐
Two full days of the greatest conversations teaching people all about the incredible marine animals we have on our coastal doorstep, using a collection of my ethically sourced specimens and artefacts, and deep diving into what makes nature so inherently q***r! ๐ฆดโจ
It was brilliant to share the stage with Radio Presenter Jack Murley and Steph Barnes โ๏ธ from Q***r Surf Club, a first for me taking on a panel and hopefully not the last! ๐ค
We spoke about the importance of community and how the ocean is a magnetic force to create such a safe space for us (yet being so wild and unpredictable!) and how it is so important for us LGBTQIA+ folk to have those places. All while exploring q***r ecologyโs progression into todayโs society and how it challenges what so many of us know about the natural world - One le***an seagull at a time!
I met so many incredibly people doing fantastic work in both the Surf and Conservation community and even bumped into some familiar faces ๐
Thank you so much Rising Tide Festival for the opportunity to work with you and be apart of something very special and to Newquay Orchard for a stunning venue space! ๐๐

๐ Q***r Marine Ecology Lino-Printing Workshop! ๐จ
This week Community in print and I collaborated on our first workshop and it was a fantastic event!
Starting the workshop having an introduction to local marine ecology and what makes them Q***r. From Bisexual Bottlenose Dolphins to Polyamorous Pinnipeds, we dipped into what Q***r Ecology is and how the natural world is so deeply inherently q***r!! ๐ณ๏ธโ๐
We then learnt how to make our own Lino prints as Devon Tipping ๐ณ๏ธโ๐ ๐จ taught us about various Lino techniques, materials and guidance to create our prints.
Using ethically sourced bones as inspiration for our art, everyone created some beautiful prints, all while learning about local marine ecology ๐
Thank you all who came to the event and to those who helped make it happen! A big shout out to Sappho's Cafe & Community Space for providing the venue as well as banana bread and coffees for us all ๐
Thereโs a lot going on in the world right now for LGBTQIA+ rights, being able to run a workshop during Pride month as part of Breton Pride to celebrate in the local community and bring people from different backgrounds together felt very needed and heart warming ๐
We more than ever must keep being visible and remembering that Pride is still a protest and weโve still got long a way to go in our society until we are fully accepted as a community. Having watched Tip Toe recently, a quote that has stuck with me and I want to share it with others is โYou are q***r in 2026, you are a political actโ and we canโt forgot that ๐
Happy Pride ๐ณ๏ธโ๐

๐ Paddle Out 2026! ๐ฃ
Today, I joined the one of many Paddle Out protests that took place across the nation today, to demand an end to sewage pollution!! ๐ฉ
Last year Plymouth Hoe East was the #1 most polluted bathing area in England and Wales last year! Thatโs stinks! ๐คฎ
Water companies have become far too reliant on overflow systems that just can not cope anymore, itโs a faulty infrastructure that needs to change!
Plymouth is home to the UKs first National Marine Park and is home to over 1,000 species, from Grey Seals, Rissos Dolphins, Anemomes, Sharks, Starfish, Rays the list goes on! It is also a place of some incredible marine habitats including Seagrass beds, the only under water flowering marine plant and an absolutely vital habitat for capturing carbon in our oceans ๐ฑ
We showed up today to show our angry and frustration towards the broken water system and demand change, now! Plymouth truly showed up in style with Morris Dancers, samba bands and so much energy ๐
Huge round of applause for who led this protest phenomenally as a local rep and everyone else involved! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak and give the local marine wildlife a voice ๐ฃ

New article has dropped! ๐ฅ
Very excited to say that I have been featured in the latest edition of their membership magazine, The Ocean Conservationist! ๐ฆ
Writing about what it means to be an Ocean Discovery Ranger at the , what my day-to-day activities look like, whatโs my favourite part of my role and more! ๐
I thoroughly enjoyed writing this article, having only been in the role for 8 months, this felt like a beautiful reflection of my journey so far at the NMA & OCT โจ

๐ณ๏ธโ๐ Nature is Q***r workshop! ๐ณ๏ธโโง๏ธ
I am absolutely In awe on how last nights Nature is Q***r worship went! ๐ Not only was it a sold out event (insane!) but it was an event filled with friends, colleagues and new faces all coming together to learn more about the world of Q***r Ecology (a topic area that I am no means an expert in, but find absolutely fascinating!) and marine species we have on our coastal doorstep! ๐
From bisexual bottlenose dolphins to le***an gulls, we used still-life drawing to merge the world of science and art together โจ
As a first time running a workshop like this to this scale, it was a fantastic opportunity to develop my own work for future workshops like this! It was a great success and due to popular demand, expect more to come! ๐ฆด
A huge thank you to for allowing me to host the event at your beautiful venue and fuelling us with cake and chai lattes all evening! If youโre based in Plymouth please do support Sapphos, itโs a fantastic q***r cafe and offer loads of events!
Thank you so much to everyone who came along, bought a ticket and supported me for my first Nature is Q***r workshop and for the kind feedback and recommendations for future evenings!
Lastly, thank you to my partner and best friend , for supporting and encouraging me to get myself out there more and holding my hand every step of the way!
This is the start of something rather special ๐๐ฆดโ๏ธ
