Isn't this great to know?! We love rhymes and we do them every morning...plus spontaneously throughout the day. We also have our very own special rhymes for washing our hands and walking up and down steps! 🥰

Nursery rhymes are so much more than songs we remember from childhood! From building vocabulary and early literacy skills to developing confidence, imagination and mathematical understanding, singing and reciting rhymes has a valuable place in Early Years learning.

A very special day yesterday, As two of my wonderful Teddies graduated. In two short weeks they will be off to start reception and I could not be more proud of the little people they have become.

For three years I have watched them grow held their hands, wiped their tears, soothed their worries and loved them as my own. They have come such a long way, overcome so much and brought so much love and joy to my setting.

The friendships they have built, I am sure will last far beyond Tiny Teddies, we had the best day dancing and celebrating together...even my very first teddy to graduate to school, joined us for the party! 🥰🥰

I know that they will continue to thrive and shine at school....once a Teddy, always a Teddy.

We love you E and L ... have fun. What a privilege it has been, to be your childminder ❤️

Summer Lighthouse hunting part 1

We have been hunting lighthouses! Which we have been LOVING

But what is the learning in this???

The children build strength, stamina and resilience with lots of walking for such little legs! They develop their balance, core strength and gross motor skills. They develop skills negotiating public spaces, navigating traffic and learning how to listen, follow instructions and remain safe. They use long distance observation skills, notice details, discuss colour, shape and what they can see. They develop an appreciation of art, extend their vocabulary and when reading out the numbers..we include a little maths! Not to mention the fabulous team work used.

It is so much more than just having fun 🥰🥰🥰
