This is Amy, our new Maths tutor! We are very excited to have her as part of our team. If you need a maths tutor, get in contact with us! She has great reviews, and we are very happy to see what she will add to our future goals!
Amy is an experienced secondary maths teacher with over 12 years in education, with a strong track record of helping students build confidence and develop a secure understanding of maths. She has worked with a wide range of students of varying abilities and is passionate about making learning clear, accessible, and supportive. Born and raised in Plymouth, Amy trained at the University of Plymouth and has taught in a Plymouth school since graduating. She is passionate about maths education and the future opportunities it can unlock, believing every student can succeed with the right support. Amy chose to step away from the classroom to be a more present mum and give her children the best version of herself, including supporting a child with additional needs. She now continues her love of teaching through tutoring with a calm, personalised, engaging approach. Her happy place is anywhere by the sea, and she enjoys spending time with family at Whitsands Bay beach.

43 bags of rubbish.
That's what volunteers have already removed from an abandoned woodland right here in Plymouth.
But we're only just getting started.
McScience CIC wants to transform this neglected woodland into a thriving outdoor learning and conservation centre where children can learn, wildlife can flourish, and the community can come together.
Our vision includes:
β’ A permanent Forest School
β’ Outdoor science education
β’ Scout and Beaver activities
β’ Community volunteering projects
β’ Biodiversity improvements including a wildlife pond
β’ Native tree planting
β’ Alternative Provision for young people
β’ Home education support and exam facilities
β’ A sustainable woodland learning cabin powered by renewable energy
To make this happen, we need to secure the site through a lease, apply for planning permission and change of use, carry out surveys, and continue restoring the woodland.
We've launched a Β£10,000 fundraising campaign to help us take these first vital steps.
Every donation, share and message of support helps us move closer to creating something truly special for Plymouth.
Together, we can turn an abandoned woodland into a place of learning, opportunity, nature and hope.
If you'd like to support the project, please donate and share this post.
