We are officially NFL National
Semi-Finalists!
These incredible girls have made history as Ivybridge Community College’s
first-ever National NFL Flag Football team!
They’ve embraced a brand-new sport, stepped out of their comfort zones, and represented our school at the absolute highest level. We couldn't be prouder of their hard work and teamwork.
We can't wait to inspire even more students to lace up their cleats and give this amazing sport a go!

RISING TALENT SHOWCASE!
The Music Department is still buzzing after the incredible success of our recent Rising Talent event!
Around fifty phenomenal performers took to the stage, including twelve talented local primary pupils. The energy was unmatched, featuring a diverse programme that had everything from the raw energy of Nirvana to the theatrical magic of Les Misérables!
This special night was all about building confidence and giving our amazing students from Ivybridge Community College and Ivybridge Music Centre the chance to truly shine.
Needless to say, the Music team could not be prouder!
What the Parents Said:
'An amazing amount of talent on display!'
'Such a supportive and open environment. Thank you to the staff for creating such a brilliant opportunity for young performers.'
A massive thank you to everyone who came out to support, and a huge congratulations to all of our performers. You're absolute rock stars!

In response to further Met Office weather warnings forecasting extremely high temperatures over the next three days, we have temporarily extended the Ivybridge Community College uniform expectations, with two uniform options available.
Option 1. Uniform with adjustment
• Formal grey College shorts may be worn as an alternative to trousers.
• Short-sleeved white College shirts are advisable.
• Blazers may be left at home for the next three days.
• Ties and lanyards are still expected to be worn.
• We recommend ankle socks instead of tights where appropriate.
Option 2. Physical Education kit
Students may choose to wear their Ivybridge Community College PE kit (with lanyards) to College instead of their formal uniform for the next three days, Tuesday, 23 – Thursday, 25 June 2026.
Please can we take this opportunity to remind students that PE kit consists of the following items only:
• College branded PE t-shirt
• Navy blue skort
• Navy blue shorts (these must not be Nike Pros or short cycling shorts)
If your child only has sports leggings as part of their PE kit, we would suggest opting for Option 1 as this would be cooler.
Sixth Form students are expected to adhere to their dress code.
Please refer to the e mail sent today for further information and guidance.

We are incredibly excited to welcome Mr Kieran Botha as the new Head of Rugby at Ivybridge Community College.
Originally from South Africa, Kieran moved to New Zealand with his family in 2005 and has dedicated much of his life to the game. A qualified Health and Physical Education teacher, he also holds a World Rugby Level 3 Advanced Coaching Award and brings with him a wealth of experience across youth, school and senior rugby environments.
Kieran joins us from Rotorua, one of New Zealand's most respected rugby regions, where he has spent the past decade coaching and developing players across a range of levels. Most recently, he served as Head Coach of Whakarewarewa Rugby Club's Premier Men's team and has worked extensively within the Bay of Plenty rugby system. Prior to this, he was Director of Rugby and First XV Head Coach at Rotorua Boys' High School, one of New Zealand's leading rugby schools, where he led successful programmes focused on both performance and player development.
As we look ahead, we are excited about the opportunities that lie before us. Kieran is eager to become part of the Ivybridge community and is looking forward to building strong relationships with students, staff, parents/carers and the wider local rugby network.
Together, we will continue to build upon the College's proud rugby tradition, create memorable experiences for our players and provide outstanding opportunities for all students involved in the game.
Please join us in giving Kieran a huge welcome!
We cannot wait to see him on the touchline soon.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the brilliant minds who stepped up for this year’s UK Chemistry Olympiad. 🧪📖
This annual competition is a high-level challenge designed to push students beyond the classroom, demanding problem-solving skills, creative thinking and the ability to apply complex science to real-world scenarios.
Every single Ivybridge Community College student who entered walked away with an award!
Two of our students achieved a Gold award (Top 8.5% of all UK entries) with a further five students receiving a Silver award (in the top 34%).
Scoring a Gold or Silver places these students among the elite young chemists in the country!
Well done to you all!

Devon Cup Finalists!
Huge congratulations to our Year 11 Elite Football Squad who should hold their heads high for making it all the way to the Devon Cup Final at Torquay Academy!
After an incredibly hard-fought match against a tough Torquay Academy side, the boys put everything on the line but unfortunately missed out on the win, finishing 2-0.
To reach this level is a massive achievement on its own, but doing it while balancing a demanding GCSE exam schedule makes it even more impressive!
