Karate in the Community CIC

And that's our second day at Mary Dean’s Primary School all done too! 💪💥

Across the 2 days, we've had the pleasure of working with the WHOLE SCHOOL! We delivered 10 varied, karate themed sessions to all of the children, from those in nursery, right through to this years leavers, as one of the many activities on offer as part of sports week!!

It's fantastic that the school bring these opportunities to their students and in turn, the student's response was brilliant, everyone was engaged, polite and enthusiastic for every single class!

We've had a great couple of days with some lovely feedback and take aways and we can't wait to continue working with the school going forward! 😊

A big thank you to our activity leaders, Theo and Ian and our volunteers, Becky and Alex for facilitating these sessions!

We had a brilliant time at Mary Dean’s Primary School today as part of their Sports Week!

We worked with 5 different classes across the day, from nursery through to year 5/6, delivering karate themed lessons that saw students developing new skills, working on reactions and improving coordination. Everyone was really engaged, giving it their best and having a lot of fun too!

We can't wait to work with the rest of the school tomorrow! 💪😊

Thanks to Jo and Mel for another brilliant SHE Social! We had some lovely catch ups, exciting collaboration ideas and someone enjoyed the chocolate cake too!

As we break up for half term, here's a look back at what our brilliant new activity leaders have achieved through April and May!

We love working with schools to provide affordable access to martial arts, encouraging children to move more, building confidence and improving coordination through our curriculum informed, karate after school clubs!

We loved being part of the Mary Dean's PTFA inflatable celebration event with Tamerton Karate Club this afternoon! 🥳

Mary Dean’s Primary School was the first school to host us as part of their Sports Week AND the first school that we ran our karate after school club from, so it was great to be involved and to celebrate 50 years of the school being on that site!

In all the excitement, we forgot to tell you...Ellie absolutely smashed the 10k!!

She ran her longest distance, in her best time and raised money for us too! A massive thank you to Ellie and to everyone that sponsored her, this really will help us to get out into the Community and keep doing good things! 💪
