On we’re reflecting on representation in anatomy education
This year, our research uncovered some powerful insights:
🔹 1 in 3 students and 1 in 4 staff don’t feel represented in anatomy programmes.
🔹 Anatomists around the world are struggling to access resources that reflect diverse populations.
🔹 Yet, many are doing remarkable work to push this agenda forward.
🔹 There’s a strong, shared desire to collaborate and achieve more together.
💬 The responses we received were so deeply moving and thought-provoking we felt compelled to share them as widely as possible.
To spark reflection and conversation, we’ve created a series of free posters, beautifully illustrated by a local artist, based on the data. These are designed to be displayed in anatomy departments, classrooms, and beyond.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to this research. Your voices are helping shape a more inclusive future for anatomy education.
