Little Mark-Makers aims to provide a space where little people can be creative with art materials and sensory play alongside a parent/carer in a fun and safe environment. The main emphasis is on the process of art making and exploration, rather than creating a finished masterpiece. However, I do understand it is special to be able take something home, so each week there will be the opportunity to
produce something that can be shown-off to the family and friends. Each session will begin by saying hello to Arty Owl and doing a quick warm-up rhyme. We will then have a look in Arty Owl's special bag to see what the week’s theme is about. It may be inspired by a book such as The Hungry Caterpillar or focus on themes such as colour, shape or even princes and princesses! The children, with their parent/carer, then go off to explore the range of free-play and structured activities on offer. Each session will finish with storytime or music and bubbles. Little Mark-Makers is led by myself- Pip Rix, a qualified Early Years Primary Teacher with an Honours degree in Fine Art. I am passionate about inspiring children to be creative and confident individuals. I am also Mum of a 2 and half year old daughter and understand how daunting it can be to do creative/messy activities at home!
