☀️ Summer Fun at Nursery! ☀️

This week, our little learners have been exploring all things summer! Even if the weather hasn’t really got the memo. 🌴🌊

The children have enjoyed lots of sensory sand and water play, developing their imagination, communication, and fine motor skills while splashing, pouring, digging, and creating. 🏖️💦

We have also been talking about holidays and sharing our dream destinations. From sunny beaches to magical adventures, the children loved discussing where they would like to travel and what they might see on their journey. ✈️🌎

Our summer-themed tuff trays have inspired curiosity and creativity, providing exciting opportunities for exploration, storytelling, and hands-on learning. From beach scenes and ice cream fun to holiday adventures, the children have fully immersed themselves in the theme. 🐚🏝️🐠

It has been wonderful to see so much enthusiasm, imagination, and collaborative play as we continue our summer learning journey! ☀️❤️
Have a lovely weekend everyone 🐥

🌈🎨 Messy Week Fun at Nursery! 🎨🌈

If there’s one thing we can do at Little Ducklings, it’s messy play!
What a fantastic week we’ve been having celebrating Messy Week!
Our children have been exploring, creating, investigating, and most importantly, having lots of fun through a variety of exciting messy play experiences.

✨ Through messy play, children have been:
🖌️ Developing their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
🗣️ Building communication and language skills as they describe their experiences
🤝 Learning to share, take turns, and work together with friends
🔍 Exploring and investigating through active learning
💡 Using their imagination and creativity to express their own ideas

There’s been plenty of laughter, curiosity, and discovery along the way, and we couldn’t be prouder of how enthusiastically the children have embraced every activity!

📸 Take a look at some of our messy adventures this week. We think you’ll agree the smiles say it all! 😊

Next week we’ll be exploring the topic of summer. We hope the weather gets the memo! ☀️
Have a lovely weekend everyone 🐥

Our little gardeners have been busy exploring the wonders of nature 🌱🌻
The children planted their very own sunflower seeds this week and have been taking care of their cress seeds too. Along the way, they discovered what seeds need to grow — sunlight, water, soil, and lots of care ☀️💧
We have also spent time a bit of time at the allotment, carefully planting and nurturing our fruit and vegetable seeds. The children have been excited to watch the seeds grow, patiently waiting for roots and have been learning which fruits and vegetables grow on top of or underneath the soil. 🌱 🥕
We also became mini bug detectives this week, exploring the soil to find the tiny creatures that help our gardens thrive 🐛🪱 The children learned all about the important role bees play in pollinating plants and helping flowers and vegetables grow 🐝
To make our week even more magical, we watched our ducklings hatch from their eggs and saw new life beginning right before our eyes! The children were beyond excited to witness the hatching and were so gentle when handling the ducklings. 🐥
A wonderful week full of learning, discovery, and hands-on experiences in nature 🌼🍃
Next week is half term so we will be closed for funded children unless a prearranged space has been made. It’s also bank holiday Monday so preschool will be closed to everyone. When we return on 1st June we’ll be heading into MESSY WEEK! 🎨 please send your children to preschool with clothes you don’t mind getting messy and with some spares too.. we have lots and lots of messy fun planned!
Hope you all have a lovely sunny bank holiday weekend 🐥

🌱🪴 Our little learners have been busy getting their hands dirty and discovering the wonders of nature! 🐦💚

This week in nursery, the children explored gardening and planting by sowing their very own cress seeds and learning how plants grow. We spoke about the fruits and vegetables that grow under and on top of the soil. Through hands on activities like this, children begin to understand where food comes from, develop a sense of responsibility, and build a real connection to the natural world.🌍🌿 We are excited to take our vegetable seeds to the allotment next week and plant them there!
The children have shown great patience and responsibility in watering and checking on their cress seeds, noticing changes and forming connections. ⭐️
The children also got creative this week making homemade bird feeders to help care for local wildlife and encourage birds into our local outdoor spaces and their gardens. 🌼🌿
We can’t wait to watch our seeds and cress grow further and see which feathered visitors stop by for a snack! 🐤✨
Our butterflies have also emerged from their cacoon this week and the children loved setting them free and watching them fly away 🦋
Next week we’ll be carrying on our gardening topic for the last week before half term. 👨‍🌾
The weather towards the end of next week is showing lots of sunshine (at the moment), please remember those sun hats, sun creams and water bottles ☀️
Hope you all have a lovely weekend 🐥

🌸 Spring is in full swing at nursery! 🌸

Our little explorers have been busy learning all about the signs of spring. We went on exciting spring hunts around the local using binoculars and magnifying glasses to spot flowers, birds, and new life blooming around us. The children enjoyed ticking off their checklist and working together to find all the items on their list. 🔎🌼

The children also got creative making beautiful blossom trees with paint, brocolli and craft materials, showing off their wonderful colour mixing and fine motor skills. What great imaginations. 🌸🎨

To finish off our spring fun, we have been enjoying some refreshing water play, splashing, pouring, scooping and exploring floating and sinking. 💦☀️

Over the next two weeks before May half term our topic will be gardening, we’ll be doing lots of planting and spending time at the allotment to see what we can grow this year. 🪴 🪏 🧑‍🌾

Have a lovely weekend everyone 🐥
