A wonderful first day back at school ✨
It was a joy to welcome so many new faces into our community, alongside lots of familiar ones stepping into new roles, whether moving up a year or taking on exciting responsibilities, including Mrs Austin as Head.
We’re so pleased to share that everyone had a lovely day. The sun shone, and once again the school was filled with the sound of happy children.
Here’s to a fantastic term ahead 🌿

Forest School afternoons really are some of the best at St Francis! Looking back over the adventures, discoveries and outdoor learning experiences our pupils enjoyed last year, it is wonderful to see the creativity, curiosity and confidence that flourishes when children are given the opportunity to explore the natural world.

A very special thank you also goes to two of our parents, Mr Miles and Mr Mackie, who generously gave their time, skills and expertise to help create a fantastic new addition to our Forest School last term – a wonderful mud kitchen for our pupils to enjoy.

Despite working in the extreme heat, they returned several times to carefully sand and finish the structure, ensuring every surface was safe, every rough edge smoothed and every detail perfected ready for the children to use. Their kindness, hard work and commitment to our school community is hugely appreciated.

We are so grateful to the Miles family, Mr Miles and Mr Mackie for helping make our Forest School an even more special place for our pupils.

A huge congratulations to all of our LAMDA pupils who received their results at the start of the summer holidays.

We are incredibly proud of the dedication, confidence and commitment shown by every pupil who took part. This year, 48 pupils completed LAMDA examinations, with an outstanding 44 achieving Distinctions and 4 achieving Merits – an amazing 91% Distinction rate.

These results are a fantastic reflection of the hard work and enthusiasm our pupils bring to their performances, developing their communication skills, creativity and self-confidence along the way.

Well done to everyone involved – what a wonderful achievement!

Creativity flourishes at St Francis!

Every year group enjoys a dedicated weekly Art & DT lesson with our wonderful specialist teacher, Mrs Parkes, giving pupils the opportunity to develop their creativity, practical skills and artistic confidence throughout their time at the school.

These photos capture just a small selection of the exciting projects our pupils have enjoyed over the past year. From creating sculptures – including some made from sugar cubes – in Year 1, exploring cityscapes and landscapes in Year 2, and studying British and European artists in Year 3, to designing and making moving toys in Year 4, taking part in the Bloodhound Competition in Year 5, and sewing their own cushions in Year 6, every year group has embraced a wide variety of creative challenges.

It has been wonderful to see our pupils experimenting with different materials, techniques and ideas, developing their creativity and problem-solving skills while producing work they can be truly proud of.

Congratulations to Matilda on an incredible achievement at the end of June!

Matilda took part in her very first horse show at the Marden Horse & Dog Show with her pony, Titch, and what a debut it was! Competing in showing, jumping and gymkhana classes, she came home with an amazing nine rosettes. To top off a fantastic day, Matilda was also awarded the Reserve Champion rosette for showing across the entire show.

This was a wonderful first competition, with Matilda demonstrating confidence, determination, focus and excellent sportsmanship throughout. We are so proud of everything she has achieved and can't wait to see what the future holds for this talented young rider.

We were especially delighted to hear that Matilda wore her St Francis red tie, proudly representing the school while out in the ring. Well done, Matilda – what a fantastic accomplishment!

A much-loved tradition at St Francis, our annual Harvest magazine was once again published at the end of the summer term. Distributed to families after Speech Day, the magazine is a wonderful celebration of the academic year, capturing the memories, achievements and special moments that have made the year so fantastic.

Packed with photographs, pupil successes and reviews of life across the school, The Harvest offers a lasting keepsake for our families and a chance to reflect on another fantastic year at St Francis. It was lovely to see everyone enjoying their first look through its pages after Speech Day and reminiscing about all that had been achieved.

We hope our families enjoy looking back on another wonderful year at St Francis.
