🌟 Welcome Back! 🌟

We hope everyone has had a lovely, restful summer holiday and is feeling refreshed and ready for the new school year ahead.

We’re looking forward to welcoming all of our children back on Wednesday 2nd September, ready to start an exciting year of learning, fun and new experiences.

📌 Reminder: Tuesday 1st September is a TD Day, so the school will be closed to pupils.

As we reach the end of another fantastic summer term, we’d like to say a huge thank you to all of our wonderful children, staff and families. It has certainly been a busy one—and a very hot one too! ☀️

We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of our parents and families throughout the year. Your encouragement and partnership make such a difference to our incredible Woodborough school community.

We hope you all have a well-deserved, restful and enjoyable summer break, making lots of happy memories with family and friends.

🌟 What a truly unforgettable final week for our Year 6 Willow Class as they celebrated the end of their primary school journey! 💙

From an incredible carnival-themed Leavers’ BBQ, generously organised by our amazing parents, to a much-needed water fight in the summer heat, every moment has been filled with fun, laughter and lasting memories. There were lazy afternoons enjoying ice cream together, signing shirts, and sharing precious moments with friends before our final church service and Leavers’ Assembly – a celebration full of memories, heartfelt poems, beautiful songs and a wonderful sense of togetherness.

We are so incredibly proud of our confident, caring and resilient Year 6 pupils. As they move on to their secondary schools, we know they will continue to show a love for learning, embrace life with confidence and kindness, and care for one another wherever their next adventure takes them.

We wish each and every one of them the very best of luck. Remember, you’ll always be part of the Woodborough community, so don’t be strangers – our doors are always be open, and we’d love to hear how you’re getting on. 💙 🌟

🏅 Sports Day 2026 🏅

A new format, a renewed sense of team spirit, and a fantastic day enjoyed by all!

We were so proud of every single child who took part in this year’s Sports Day. The morning’s quadrant activities – equestrian, target throw, slalom relay and water challenge – were a huge success, with our Year 6 House Captains demonstrating outstanding leadership skills. It was wonderful to see everyone working together, encouraging one another and contributing valuable points towards their house teams.

The afternoon’s traditional races brought plenty of excitement, determination and healthy competition, culminating in our brand-new inter-house relay, which was a brilliant finale to the day.

A huge well done and thank you to Mr Dyson for organising such a memorable event, and to our Year 6 House Captains, who designed all of this year’s activities. Your hard work, creativity and leadership made the day extra special.

Congratulations to this year’s overall winners, Mercury House! 🏆

What a fantastic KS2 Swimming Gala today! The new format brought such an inclusive, energetic and fun atmosphere to every race. Our children were beautifully behaved, full of encouragement for one another and showed incredible team spirit throughout.

A huge thank you and massive congratulations to Mrs Johanson for her superb organisation — the event ran flawlessly thanks to her dedication and hard work. Well done also to our Year 6 House Captains for designing such fabulous races. A brilliant event all round! 💙🏊‍♂️

🚢 Year 3 Visit The SS Great Britain

Cherry Class had a fantastic day exploring the SS Great Britain as part of their local history topic on the remarkable Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

The children stepped back in time as they explored the historic ship, discovered what life was like for passengers and crew (we were fans of the first class accommodations) and learned about Brunel's incredible engineering achievements.

They asked thoughtful questions, took part in exciting activities and brought their classroom learning to life through this memorable experience.

We were so proud of the children's excellent behaviour, enthusiasm and curiosity throughout the day. A huge thank you to the staff and volunteers at the SS Great Britain for making our visit so engaging and to our staff and parent helpers for supporting the trip.

🐻💙 Thank you to all our parents and families for supporting our Teddy Take Over. Together, we raised an amazing £102.90 for Julia’s House!

This was a fantastic School Council initiative, and we’re so proud of everyone who took part. Thank you for your generosity and support! 🧸✨

🎨✨ What an inspiring way to end the week with our very own Woodborough School Art Gallery, celebrating this year’s Art Week!

Every child had their stunning still life artwork proudly displayed in its own frame, transforming our school into a wonderful gallery. From sketching pencils and watercolours to pastels and more, our pupils explored a range of artistic media and showcased their creativity, talent and hard work.

This afternoon, we were delighted to welcome parents and families into school to admire the incredible collection. It was wonderful to see so many visitors appreciating and celebrating our young artists’ achievements.

A huge thank you to Mrs Barratt for another fantastic Art Week, inspiring creativity across the school and for organising such a beautiful gallery for everyone to enjoy. What a wonderful celebration of the arts at Woodborough! 🎨🖼️💛

Alice the Musical – that’s a wrap! 🎭✨

And what a wonderful final night it was!

We are incredibly proud of every single member of our cast, who acted with confidence, sang with spirit, danced with delight and performed with passion across our final two evening performances. Their captivating characters, sensational singing, dazzling dancing and boundless enthusiasm brought Wonderland to life and had audiences smiling from start to finish!

Despite the soaring temperatures, the children were not phased! They gave everything they had, supporting one another, encouraging their friends and embracing every moment on stage with resilience, confidence and joy.

A huge thank you also goes to our dedicated staff and families for their support, and to everyone who came along to watch and cheer on our talented pupils. Your encouragement creates the buzz!

Bravo to our incredible KS2 cast—you should all be immensely proud of what you have achieved. What a fantastic way to end an unforgettable production of Alice the Musical. 🌟🎶♠️♥️

🎭✨ A little sneak peek behind the scenes at our KS2 production of Alice in Wonderland! ✨🎭

Lines have been learnt, songs have been sung (many, many times! 🎶), dances have been perfected, and props have all found their place… The excitement is building, and we can’t wait to share our incredible performances with you!

Join us next week on Wednesday and Thursday at 6:00pm to see all of the children’s hard work come to life on stage.

We are so proud of every single one of them—they have been working incredibly hard, and we know you’re in for a wonderful show! 🌟🍄🐇💙
