Hadley is a Music Scholar, and he spoke to us about Seaford's Music Technology A Level course, he said: “Music Technology and Seaford’s facilities are amazing. It’s rare to find this course in Sixth Form. I want to work in music production and composing and Mr Deacon, my Music Technology teacher, is really enthusiastic. It’s great having a teacher that is passionate about their subject and I’m really happy with my A*. I achieved 2A*s and A and I'm heading to the University of Surrey to study Creative Music Technology.
On the Music Tech course you study course topics like live recordings, music production, live performance, and you study lots of different genres which are really interesting.
I also study Music and Miss Hawkins, Head of Music, has been a fantastic mentor and teacher. I’ve practically lived in the Music Block! If I’m not in lessons, I’ve been using my free periods to play my instruments in the practice rooms or I’m in a lesson with a peripatetic teacher. I play the guitar, clarinet, drums, piano and saxophone.
My Seaford highlights are playing the jazz clarinet for the production of The Great Gatsby, playing in a great community and such a friendly band and playing at Seafordstock and so many other events throughout the year, it’s really built my confidence as a musician and a performer and I’m really grateful for that so thank you Seaford!
I want to work as a composer and producer; I’d love to work in film and TV composition. It’s a tough industry, and I plan to have a diverse portfolio career. In the music industry, you need lots of different skills, and that’s what Seaford has given me through studying A Level Music and Music Technology.”
