Our Maths Department has been named as an “Ambassador School” for Ark Curriculum. 🎉

This means the department will become a regional and national hub to share practice with other teachers and support other schools with their curriculum design and implementation.

We know that an excellent and ambitious curriculum that is thoughtful and intentional is critical in securing excellent outcomes for our pupils - and we are very proud that our maths curriculum has been nationally recognised for this!

Well, that’s 4 assemblies completed! 💙

Over 600 teenagers and adults are now stoma aware, and I’ve completed 4 presentations about what it’s really like to live with a stoma bag.

I’m really proud of myself. It has taken a lot of courage to stand up in front of so many people I don’t know and share my story.

I’ve done all of this to raise awareness for Stoma Awareness Day tomorrow, and I’m so proud of myself for standing up, speaking out and showing people that living with a stoma doesn’t stop you living your life. 💙

This week has shown me just how much I can achieve when I believe in myself.

600+ people stoma aware… 💙

Letters have been distributed to Year 9, Year 12 and Year 13 regarding an exciting trip to see Billy Elliot at the Sunderland Empire on Wednesday 18th November.

The cost of the trip is £35. Payment details will be shared once signed consent forms have been returned.

This is a fantastic opportunity for students to experience a world famous musical featuring songs by Elton John. Set against the backdrop of the Miners’ Strike, the story is closely linked to the communities of County Durham, including Easington Colliery.

If your child would like to attend, please return the expression of interest slip to Ms Laverick by Monday 28th September.
