What an emotional day! The end of an era for me personally and I just want to say thank you to all our parents for your wonderful, generous gifts and kind words but also mostly for giving us the absolute privelege of caring for and educating your children.
I, and all the staff, have loved every minute and we will miss our school leavers dearly. To trust your most precious person into the care of someone else is a leap of faith we know, thank you for putting your faith in us and we hope they have loved it as much as we have.
Take care Saplings, we hope we gave you life long memories, roots to ground you and wings to fly. 💚

Due to the change in management and all of the work involved in that over the next month or so, we won't be able to run any holiday clubs this Summer, sorry if you've been waiting for the dates to be released.
However, loads of fun things in the running going forward. Watch this space 🌳

If there is one thing we can learn from spending time in nature it's that, day to day, season to season, change is inevitable. It's also absolutely necessary for potential to be unlocked and wonderful things to happen. Change is beautiful!

The winds of change have breezed through Saplings lately, as I've decided the time has come for me to move on from my role as Managing Director at the end of this term. I am unbelievably proud of what we have created over the past 6 years, to work in a beautiful place with amazing people has been such a privilege and one I've never taken for granted. I am fully convinced that playing in natural spaces is far and away the best way for young children to learn and everything I've witnessed over the past 6 years has only confirmed that children thrive outside. Saplings is going from strength to strength!

My replacement is this lovely lady, Hannah Atkinson. Hannah shares my passion for child-centered, outdoor learning and is an outstanding educator. I know Saplings will be in such safe hands with her at the helm. I'm confident that this change is the beginning of something even more beautiful.

5 Little Ducks! Gorgeous experience this past 2 weeks watching our ducklings hatch and grow. We learnt about what they needed to keep safe and happy, how they felt in our hands and why we needed to be gentle, what they ate and how noisy they were! We discovered why their feet were different to ours and how much they loved to be in the water.

We still have limited places available at our Wild Explorer holiday club for children 3-8 years old during the Spring break on the :
3 & 4 April and the 12 & 13 of April
9.30am-3pm each day.
£27.50 per day including lunch, snacks, drinks and all resources.

We thought Spring had sprung last month as the wild garlic and snowdrops started pushing through, we learnt how to follow a recipe as we made fruit pancakes in the woods, planted our veggie seeds aiming to grow the characters from our favourite ‘Supertato’ stories and enjoyed the February sunshine.
Then it was back to winter weather this week with lots of snow play!

All of our staff have been completing an Outdoor Paediatric First Aid course this week. Great to refresh our knowledge and skills as a team, even though we aim to never have to use them.
There was absolutely no messing around, we promise 😅!
