Last week, students celebrated completing The Brilliant Club programme with a reward visit to Newcastle and Durham Universities.

They have shown fantastic commitment throughout the programme, and we are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved. We hope the visit has inspired them to continue aiming high for the future! 🌟🎓

💼 What a fantastic week for our Year 10 students!

We hope everyone out on work experience has had an enjoyable and valuable week. We can't wait to hear all about your experiences when we welcome you back in September!

For the students who remained in school, the week included an inspiring entrepreneurship workshop delivered by Linden Window Cleaning, where they learned what it takes to build a successful business from the ground up.

Our visitors were incredibly impressed by the enthusiasm, curiosity and thoughtful questions from our students, making the session a real success.

A huge thank you to Linden Cleaning Services - Window Cleaning for generously giving their time to support our students and inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs. 🌟

👏 Well done to our Year 7 boys’ football and netball teams, and our Year 8/9 softball and rounders teams, who represented Dene Academy at the ALP Sports Festival at Whitworth Park on Monday!

Every team showed fantastic teamwork, determination and excellent sportsmanship throughout the day. It was a brilliant way to round off another successful sporting year.

🌈 Colour Run 2026 – What a Day! 🌈

What an incredible afternoon we had at last week's whole-school Colour Run! 🎉

For the first time, our entire school community came together for one event, with students competing for their houses in a fantastic afternoon of fun, teamwork and friendly competition. The atmosphere was incredible as every year group tackled the course, obstacles and colour stations, all while earning valuable house points.

A huge thank you to our amazing staff for making the event possible. Most importantly, well done to our fantastic students for embracing the challenge and making the first whole-school Colour Run one of the highlights of the year!

We can't wait to do it all again next year! 💙💚💛❤️
