π₯ Weβre proud to share that Dene Academy has achieved the Gold National Quality Mark for SMSC & British Values! π₯
We are delighted on being awarded the Gold National Quality Mark for SMSC & British Values in recognition of our outstanding commitment to developing confident, compassionate and responsible young people.
The verification celebrated a school where SMSC and Fundamental British Values are deeply embedded across both the curriculum and pastoral provision, creating an environment in which every pupil is supported to flourish academically, socially and emotionally.
The report highlighted the academy's highly inclusive, nurturing and aspirational culture, alongside exceptional opportunities for pupils through careers education, enrichment activities, community partnerships and meaningful pupil leadership.
One pupil summed up the ethos of the school perfectly:
"We are very resilient, open to diversity and respectful to all. We are a great example of what a good school should be. Everyone is included."
Another pupil shared:
"Our teachers believe in us, even when we are struggling. They always encourage us."
The verification team was also impressed by the academy's specialist learning facilities, its strong partnership with parents through a dedicated SMSC newsletter, and the way pupil voice genuinely shapes school improvement.
As one governor proudly commented:
"This verification is an opportunity to show what is embedded at Dene Academy and all the wonderful work that is taking place. We are so proud to be part of this school."
This Gold Award recognises a school where respect, inclusion, aspiration and personal development are at the heart of everything it does.
π Congratulations to Danielle Dakers, Rochelle Laine, the dedicated staff, governors, pupils, parents and the wider school community on this fantastic achievement. You should all be immensely proud!
