This week some of our bricklaying students kindly repointed a wall at our stunning Houghall Campus. We want to say a huge thank you to the students for their hard work!

As part of the visit, students learned about trusses, timber girders and timber house kits. They also learned about the state-of-the-art purchasing, production, and delivery processes.
This trip allowed students to see what they learn in the classroom out in the working environment. Thank you, Fencehouse Timber Engineering, for inviting students for a tour!

Some outstanding work done by Level 1 Bricklaying student James, he has taken a door out at his sisterโs house, then toothed out the brickwork and then partially bricked it up to form a window opening to replace the door!
It is fantastic to see the progress and achievements our students are continuously making despite studying remotely, well done James!๐งฑ๐

A group of our construction students werenโt put off by a bit of snow today when the got the chance to visit a housing development on Matterdale Road, Peterlee, a site of affordable social housing new builds by T. Manners & Son.
Wayne Harris construction director gave a great talk staff and about their business and this site.
Nick Redpath from Northern Counties Safety Group Limited also gave a talk about H&S on site and will be come into college to speak to all of construction students in the near future.
Derek Collins, the site manager, gave a fantastic guided tour of the site.
Thanks to everyone involved who helped made the trip possible.
