Rear-facing car seats are up to FIVE, YES FIVE, times safer than forward-facing ones. Yet, many children are switched too soon.
During impact in a forward-facing seat, crash forces are transferred to the child’s neck, creating enormous tension. A rear-facing car seat distributes the crash forces over a larger area and therefore significantly reduces the forces imposed on the neck.
This is why my children, and all the babies, toddlers and young children that I see, will all be rear facing for as long as possible.
Rear facing is not a fad, it’s not new, it’s not parent shaming or delaying the child’s development. It’s protecting them, their precious underdeveloped skeletons, and giving them the best opportunity to grow safely and survive in the most common types of collisions on UK roads.

These can be obtained online from https://www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/schools/information/early-learning-and-childcare-information
All Early Learning and Childcare settings that provide Early Learning and Childcare funded places are regulated by Education Scotland and the Care Inspectorate, and are quality assured by Aberdeenshire Council.
Parents/carers should note there are separate approaches for applying for funded places in school nursery classes and for applying for funded places in commissioned playgroups or private day nurseries.
These are as follows:
For entry to a local authority school.
For children who become eligible to commence their Early Learning and Childcare funded place in the 2024/2025 session, applications should be submitted online between January 22, 2024 and February 2, 2024.
A list of all provision is listed in the ‘Applying Early Learning and Childcare for Your Child – Application Booklet’.
Booklets are available from the website at https://www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/schools/information/early-learning-and-childcare-information
Evidence of the child’s date of birth (original birth certificate) and evidence of home address (for example a recent utility bill or recent bank statement) will be required, once you have received confirmation that your child has been offered a place.
For entry to a commissioned playgroup, private day nursery or childminder (funded providers)
Parents/carers should first apply directly to the commissioned playgroup, private day nursery or childminder of their choice from the January 22, 2024.
Once a place has been secured, Parents/carers will then be asked by their funded provider, to apply online for a funded place for the confirmed number of hours.
This funding will be paid direct to your chosen funded provider by Aberdeenshire Council. If the parent/carer does not apply for a funded place, your chosen provider may ask parent/carers to pay full price.

Just a wee snapshot of some of the fun we've had this year. The kids really enjoy outdoor fun and have loved bug hunting, dolphin spotting, visiting animals, collecting 'treasure', dinosaur hunt, strawberry picking, feeding ducks, having lots of fun with bubbles, leaves & of course puddles!........to name but a few.
Wishing everyone a very happy 2022! Hope it is a year of good health, lots of fun and much happiness..........& hopefully less covid restrictions!
2021 still wasn’t the year for plans and the freedom we would have liked but again we weathered the storm and survived the year👍
Thank you again to all my lovely families for their continued support & understanding during another strange, unprecedented year. There has been lots of uncertainty and changes but, together, we have adapted well & the children have been wee stars and taken it all in their stride ⭐❤️.
Unfortunately, although we have followed guidance, had vaccinations and boosters Covid is still very much around and therefore we start another year with some restrictions!
But, despite these restrictions, I'm sure we will, with continued adherence to guidance, still have lots of fun at Jumping Jacks & we're looking forward to lots of exciting times ahead!
Look forward to seeing everyone again soon.
If you have any questions or would like to check availability of spaces please feel free to contact me at any time.

Happy 2021 & wishing you a year of good health, lots of fun and much happiness!
2020 wasn’t the year for plans and the freedom we normally enjoy but we have weathered the storm and survived the year👍
This wouldn't have been possible without the continued support & understanding of my lovely families during this strange, unprecedented year. There has been lots of uncertainty and changes but, together, we have all adapted well & the children have been wee stars and taken it all in their stride ⭐❤️.
Although we are starting the year with Tier 4 restrictions, hopefully with continued adherence to government guidance and the rollout of vaccines the days when life can resemble some form of normality aren't too far away and we can return to some semblance of normality!
Regardless of restrictions I'm sure we will still manage to have lots of fun at Jumping Jacks & we're looking forward to lots of exciting times ahead!
Look forward to seeing everyone again soon.
