P2.3.4 have been working hard on ‘Meta-Skills Monday’, this week focussing on the skill ‘adapting’. They discussed various ways in which we adapt plans in every day life, and then set to work on their skills stations. Along the way, they were asked challenging questions prompting them to adapt their work. For example: making a bridge wider or taller so that something could travel over or under it. It was fantastic to see such great team work & communication skills. The children were all in amazement of how many times they could adapt something, without ever having to go and fetch different materials!

We have really enjoyed the first couple of weeks of the new term, welcoming our new and returning pupils to our school. We are delighted that our P1 pupils have had their first full day today, and hope that they are enjoying their first term of school.
Each week, our classes will take it in turns to have a 'Facebook Takeover', where photographs of their learning will be shared with you, so that our learning community has a chance to see what they have been up to in class.

First up, it's P1.2 who have been extremely busy. It's been lovely to see such a buzz and love for learning in the classroom when we have been in, and it's great to see how quickly the class are settling in to routines.

Every child has the right to an identity, a name and to express who they are! Our P1.2 pupils have been exploring the UNCRC by drawing wonderful self-portraits that celebrate their unique personalities and individuality.

Keep it up everyone, fantastic examples of on TRACK learners!

We as a staff team have been working really hard over the In-Service Days to transform our spaces and get our classrooms ready to welcome our pupils through the doors tomorrow.

To all of our new families, we are really looking forward to welcoming you into our school community, and working with you throughout your child’s journey with us.

As your children begin this wonderful new chapter, we’ll be there with smiles, reassurance and encouragement as each child settles into their new surroundings.

We’d also like to wish our former P7 pupils all the very best tomorrow as they start secondary school. We are behind you every step of the way, please keep in touch, we cannot wait to hear of your future successes.

See you all tomorrow at 9am😊 🏫

💙P7 Final Farewell💙

Today, we waved our Primary 7s off through the school gates one final time, as they head off to new adventures at the Academy.

Each one of you should be incredibly proud of your strength and resilience over the years, of how much you have learnt and grown, and of the individuals you have become.

Congratulations to the entire class, and Mrs Longden, on a sensational P7 Final Farewell show, it was wonderful to see your personalities and talents shine. Our P7 Legacy this session also raised over £3000 of which some went towards their end of term activities including Landmark, and the rest will go towards the school P7 Legacy fund to refurbish the painted playground games.

Thank you to our Parent Council, Murdoch Allan Bakery and Jamesie for all of their generous efforts and donations that went towards our P7s, and to our former pupil for playing the bagpipes this afternoon to give our P7s a wonderful send off.

To all pupils, staff, families and the wider Hatton Community, I hope you all have a wonderful Summer Break and we are looking forward to welcoming you back in August. 💙

It’s been a busy few weeks. The P7’s were busy with their carnival full of activities for the rest of the school. They also had fun on their trip to Landmark. Thank you to CLAN Hatton/ Hatton(Cruden) Parent Forum for paying the tickets for P5-7 to go to the Science centre. It was a fun and educational trip that they all enjoyed. Children also had fun at Kids day out. They have all done the school so proud whilst being out and about at the different events.
