A reminder of our Open Day arrangements

As we are about to start a new term we just wanted to say a big thank you to all of our parents and carers for the wonderful support and positive feedback we’ve received over the summer following the countrywide implementation of ‘Benedict’s Law’ and the introduction of updated allergy controls in Schools coming into effect this September.

At the start of the summer, all parents and carers received a letter outlining key information and advice relating to the updated allergy controls, if you have not done so already, we urge all Parents and carers to read this key information even if their child does not have an allergy. Parents and carers of students with allergies were also sent important documentation to complete and return before the start of term.

Please make sure this documentation is completed, signed by your GP and returned as soon as possible. It is essential that we have up to date information for every pupil with an allergy before September, so we can ensure the correct support is in place and that we are providing the safest possible environment for every child.

If your child has an allergy and you have not received the relevant paperwork, please contact our Admin team at [email protected] as soon as possible.

📅 Saturday 17 & 24 October
⏰ 10.00am–12.00pm

**Who is eligible?**

To attend observations for Herefordshire, you must:
➡️ **Live AND/OR go to school in Herefordshire**
**OR**
➡️ **Play for a Herefordshire cricket club and have played at least three games for that club.**

Due to our partnership with Worcestershire, boys that live in the current county boundary of Worcestershire may also be eligible.

LOCAL NEWS 🗞️ | A 16-year-old Hereford Army Cadet is taking on a 55-kilometre walking challenge this month to raise money for the Hereford & Worcestershire Army Cadet Force.

Joel, from Hereford, will set off with his friend Louie, on Wednesday 26 August, walking from Hereford Cathedral to Worcester Cathedral over three days.

The pair will walk from Hereford to Ledbury on the first day before continuing towards the Malvern Hills on the second day. They will then descend towards Worcester Cathedral on the final day, Friday 28 August.

Joel said his experiences with the cadets had inspired him to take on the challenge and help ensure other young people can benefit from similar opportunities.

“The Army Cadet Force provides young people with opportunities to develop confidence, resilience, leadership skills and lifelong friendships through the great opportunities and training they provide,” he said.

“I have had some wonderful experiences through the cadets and in September I have been given the opportunity to jump out of an airplane during a static line parachute jump.”

Joel says opportunities such as parachuting are made possible through donations and the charitable trust supporting the cadet force.

“With the money I raise, more cadets will be given opportunities like this throughout their cadet journey,” he added.

The Army Cadet Force provides young people with training and activities designed to build confidence, resilience, leadership and practical skills, alongside the chance to form friendships and take part in experiences they might not otherwise have access to.

Joel is now appealing to the local community to support his fundraising effort.

“Please donate if you can. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help support the Hereford & Worcester Army Cadet Force and provide life-changing opportunities for young people across Herefordshire and Worcestershire,” he said.

Year 11 can collect results between 10am and 11am on Thursday 20th August.

Year 10 students should not come into school for results as these will be emailed home at 10am on Thursday.

Extremely proud of Harry. What an achievement!!!

FOOTBALL | Hereford teenager Harry Jones making his mark at Hereford FC.

A Hereford teenager is being recognised for his rapid progress through the local football pathway after earning valuable first-team experience with Hereford FC.

Harry Jones, 16, has come through the age groups at Hereford Development Centre (HDC), finishing last season with the U16s before stepping up to the U18s.

At just 15, Jones was representing the Hereford U18s in the Midland Floodlit League, while also playing Saturday football with HDC in the MJPL.

His development has continued this summer, with Jones involved with Hereford FC during pre-season and his name appearing on the first-team team sheet as the National League North campaign gets underway.

For HDC, Jones’ progress represents exactly what a strong youth pathway can provide — giving young players the opportunity to develop, step up and test themselves at higher levels.

His journey from HDC’s age groups to senior football is a proud moment for everyone involved, and one that could mark the start of an exciting chapter.

At just 16, Jones has already taken a significant step.
