The Kingfisher Centre - Complex Needs Day Centre

We were very lucky to have Zoolab come and visit us last Friday!! 🐍🪳🦎

Individuals had the opportunity to meet and hold a range of animals in a safe and supportive environment, while also learning fun facts about lizards, snakes, spiders and other animals they encountered that day. It was lovely to see everyone trying new experiences and having fun.

Fun fact: Spiders don't have ears; instead, they hear vibrations through tiny sensitive hairs on their legs!! 🕷️🕸️

A lovely week supporting people to access the local area and making the most of the warmer weather!
From sailing, walking around local parks, rowing at the lake, visiting coffee shops, Cathedral, and someone using the bus for the first time!
So many smiles and achievements all round, building confidence, independence, opportunities, and enjoying the sunshine.🌞

We’ve been having a fantastic time exploring our senses through our new Sensory Science course. It has been a wonderful experience for everyone, using a variety of materials and activities to explore sight, touch, sound, and movement.
So far, we’ve created our own lava lamps, built and watched a volcano erupt (which was amazing!), and even made a balloon-powered car. 🚗🎈
Everyone has loved experimenting, exploring, and seeing science come to life right in front of them! We’re looking forward to many more exciting sensory experiments over the coming weeks. 🔬✨

We offer a wide range of exciting sessions both in-centre and out in the community, such as; Ice skating, Bowling, Sailing, Community,
trips, Sensory stories, Sound bath sessions… and so much more!

Every session is designed to promote independence, wellbeing, confidence, and joy, while creating meaningful experiences and memories.
