🌿 CAN YOU HELP US CREATE OUR NEW OUTDOOR LEARNING SPACE?🌿

We’re really excited to be developing an outdoor learning and wellbeing space at NewHeart Learning for our young people. 💚

We want to transform our outside area into a welcoming space where students can learn, grow plants, explore nature, take part in practical activities and simply have somewhere calm to spend time outdoors.

Before we start buying everything, we thought we’d reach out to our amazing local community! 🙏

We’re looking for donations of new or good-quality unwanted items such as:

🪵 Log stools / outdoor seating
🪑 Benches or seating areas
🌱 Raised beds / wooden planting beds
🌻 Large planters
🐷 Old pig troughs suitable for planting
🏡 Small greenhouses / mini greenhouses
🐝 Bug hotels
🐦 Bird houses / nesting boxes
🌿 Trellis and garden structures
🪴 Plant pots and containers
🧰 Gardening tools
🌱 Compost, topsoil, seeds and plants
🪵 Timber or sleepers suitable for outdoor projects
🍃 Anything else that could help us create a fantastic outdoor learning, gardening and nature area.

If you’re a local business, garden centre, builder, landscaper, farmer or member of the community and have anything you could donate, we would be incredibly grateful.

Even if you don’t have anything to donate, a share would be hugely appreciated and might help us reach someone who does! 💚

🍝 Cooking up something special at NewHeart today! ❤️

Today, two of our students rolled up their sleeves and cooked a delicious spaghetti bolognese completely from scratch 👏

From preparing the ingredients to cooking and serving the finished meal, they did a fantastic job and the best part was that we all sat down together afterwards to enjoy what they had made.🥰

It was about so much more than cooking: building confidence, developing life skills, working together and enjoying that lovely sense of community around the table.

Safe to say… there weren’t many leftovers! 😋🍝

This calm and welcoming space will be used for a range of interventions, giving our students somewhere they can feel safe, supported and comfortable while working on their wellbeing, confidence and emotional development.

Today feels like a pretty big day for NewHeart Learning… 💜

A new term begins, but for us, it also marks the start of a whole new chapter.

When NewHeart began, we had a vision of creating somewhere different. Somewhere young people could feel safe, understood and accepted. Somewhere education could be adapted around the child, rather than expecting the child to fit into a system that perhaps hasn’t worked for them.

There have been plenty of long days, late nights, difficult decisions and moments where we’ve wondered how we were ever going to get everything done! 😂 But there have also been so many moments that have reminded us exactly why we started.

And today is another one of those moments.

For the first time, we’re welcoming our own employees through the doors and officially growing the NewHeart team. 🥹❤️

It might sound like a small milestone to some, but to us it feels HUGE.

We’re incredibly proud of how far NewHeart has come, but even more excited about where we’re going next.

New team. New term. More young people to support. And so much still to come.

Here’s to the next chapter… ❤️🌱

We're delighted to welcome Rebecca, who has joined NewHeart Learning as our English Teacher.

Rebecca brings over 10 years of experience supporting children and young people across specialist schools, Alternative Provision and mainstream education. With extensive knowledge of SEND, including autism, ADHD, SEMH and complex learning needs, she has dedicated her career to helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Throughout her career, Rebecca has planned and delivered engaging lessons for individuals, small groups and whole classes, adapting her teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs and EHCP outcomes. Her experience as a 1:1 Tutor within Alternative Provision has enabled her to develop creative and personalised approaches that encourage students to reconnect with education and experience success.

As our English Teacher, Rebecca is passionate about helping students develop confidence in reading, writing, speaking and communication. She believes English is about far more than passing exams, it's about giving young people the skills to express themselves, build confidence, think critically and prepare for life beyond education. Through engaging texts, creative writing, meaningful discussion and personalised learning, Rebecca aims to inspire every learner to discover that they can succeed in English.

Rebecca's calm, nurturing and relationship-focused approach creates a safe environment where students feel valued, supported and ready to learn. Alongside her teaching, she has a strong background in safeguarding, behaviour support and trauma-informed practice, ensuring every young person receives the individual support they need to thrive.
