On behalf of Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service, I am writing to invite you to the premier screening of a new video feature highlighting the tragic consequences of young people entering open water
The last month or so has brought this into sharp focus, with more than a dozen tragic incidents around the country involving young people entering open water and not resurfacing. This Drowning Prevention Week, which runs from June 13 until June 20, we are hoping to highlight the consequences in a new short film, produced in partnership with Peterborough City Council.
The film involves the tragic story of 16 year-old Jack Lloyd, who lost his life in April last year near Peterborough, with a heartbreaking account from his father Darren and the impact the incident has had on fire and police officers.
Event Details:
Thursday June 18 at 10.45am (film will start at 11am)
The Odeon Cinema, Queensgate, Peterborough, PE1 1NT [Parking is available in the multi-storey car park]
