Today we enjoyed a walk around the Burghley gardens. The children brought in their favourite bear books from home and a teddy bear which we took along on our adventures.
We searched for bears in the woodlands, read our stories along the way and had lots of fun sliding our bears down the slide in the adventure play park.

Today we have enjoyed a walk around our local countryside. We took our ’We’re going on a Bear hunt’ story, read it along the way and acted out our favourite parts - Swishy swashy through the long grass, splash splosh (throwing stones in the stream) and stumble trip through the forest.
We also took some empty sensory bottles so we could fill them up with natural objects from our story - we will then use them as story props and sensory bottles for the babies.

Another lovely morning at Hamerton zoo. We enjoyed watching the monkeys, visiting the tiger and saw some very cute baby owls!

After strawberry picking we went on an adventure to Rutland water.
We had no plan and decided what to do as we explored…
🌊We watched the waves on the lake and talked about the wind and how it was making the lake wavy and blowing our hair!
🪨Threw stones in the water seeing who could throw the furthest, highest or make the biggest splash.
🌲Collected pine cones for our nature kitchen, using lots of mathematical language and comparing how many we carry or fit in our buckets!
🧺Had fun in the park and enjoyed a picnic lunch (and more strawberries) while listening to our ‘Mouse and strawberry’ story again.

Today we enjoyed strawberry picking at Rutland water fruit farm. We talked about what colours were ripe and ready to pick, compared different sizes, enjoyed lots for our snack and listened to our mouse and strawberry story.

Busy day at the farm - we went to say hello to the new piglets but they were all asleep in their sty, so we enjoyed talking to the sheep and lambs, had running races and had fun in the play barn when it started raining!
