Thanks to one of our lovely parents, we had some fresh vegetables and herbs to explore today, and the children noticed them straight away during breakfast.
Their curiosity was bubbling away, so we decided to place everything on the table and do some proper investigating. We looked, touched, smelled and talked about all the different colours, shapes and textures.
Did you know that chillies are actually classed as berries? Did you know that cucumber is a fruit botanically, but we often use it as a vegetable? And did you know that lemons, olives and tomatoes are fruits too?
Well, we all learned something new today!
After our mini food investigation, the children helped us plan dinner using all the yummy fresh ingredients. They were extremely excited to take part, share ideas and help prepare the food.
Such a simple activity gave us so much learning: communication and language through new words and discussions, understanding the world by exploring where food comes from, maths through sorting and comparing, fine motor skills during preparation, and personal, social and emotional development by working together and making choices.
A delicious day full of curiosity, teamwork and tiny food scientists. π₯π

Guess what came out of the cupboard today!
Itβs that time of year again, one of the most exciting, emotional and proud times at Little Pandas.
Most of our children start their journey with us as babies. We have watched them crawl, try their first foods, take their first little steps, say new words, make friendships and slowly grow into the most amazing tiny personalities.
Seeing how far they have come is such a special feeling. This time of year always makes us stop, reflect and realise just how lucky we are to do this job.
There may be a few happy tears coming soon, but for nowβ¦
OMG! We did it!!ππΌπ

ππ What a wonderful way to start Monday! ππ
Today at Little Pandas we had a very royal celebration for King Charlesβ birthday!
We learned about the Union Jack and made sure we could spot all the colours on the flag β red, white and blue. The children did brilliantly with their listening, colour recognition and remembering new facts.
Of course, no royal celebration is complete without a danceβ¦ so we learned how to waltz! There were lots of giggles, twirls, careful steps and very proud little dancers. ππΊ
The children also made their very own crowns, using their creativity, imagination and fine motor skills to decorate them beautifully.
A lovely day full of learning, dancing, crafting and a little taste of royalty. πβ¨

β½πΌ What a fantastic way to end the week! πΌβ½
Today the Little Pandas had an absolute blast celebrating the start of the UEFA football tournament with our very own Pandas Sports Day!
We spent the day playing football, chasing, kicking and dribbling balls, taking part in fun games, and most importantly, sharing lots of smiles and laughter. The children showed great enthusiasm, determination, and teamwork as they cheered each other on and joined in with all the activities.
Through active play, the children developed their gross motor skills, balance, coordination, and spatial awareness. They also practised important social skills such as taking turns, following simple rules, encouraging friends, and celebrating each other's successes.
There were plenty of goals scored, lots of running around, and even more reasons to laugh! What a wonderful day full of fun, friendship, and football. β½πββοΈπββοΈπ
Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

Hooray! Today we managed to complete our World Ocean Day activities. The children were highly engaged and showed lots of curiosity as we explored what the ocean is and what lives in it.
The children's favourite part of the activity was our ocean sensory tray. We placed an empty tray in front of them and asked what we would need to make it look like an ocean. Together, they suggested sharks, fish, rocks, and seaweed. We almost forgot the most important thing β water! One child even suggested adding salt to make it like the real ocean β what a clever little bean!
The children had so much fun helping to create the ocean tray and enjoyed exploring and playing with it throughout the activity. It was wonderful to see their imagination, knowledge, and enthusiasm for learning about the ocean.

π What a Busy Few Weeks for Our Little Pandas! πΌ
We have been having so much fun lately that it's hard to keep up with all the adventures!
We've explored the fascinating world of thunderstorms, learnt what causes thunder, and even created our very own fluffy thunder clouds through arts and crafts. βοΈβοΈπ¨
We've enjoyed lots of trips to local playgrounds, where children have been climbing, balancing, running, sharing, and building friendships. ππββοΈπ¨
For World Environment Day, our little Pandas became environmental superheroes and went litter picking. We talked about why it's important to look after our planet and how even small actions can make a big difference. ππβ»οΈ
While having fun, the children have also been learning every day:
β¨ Building confidence and independence
β¨ Developing communication and language skills through discussions and sharing ideas
β¨ Strengthening fine motor skills through crafts and creative activities
β¨ Improving physical development through climbing, running, balancing, and exploring outdoors
β¨ Learning kindness, teamwork, and respect for the world around them
Most importantly, we've been making wonderful memories, having lots of laughs, and enjoying every moment together. β€οΈ
We can't wait to see what adventures the next few weeks bring!

Hope you are all enjoying the well-deserved storm after such a crazy hot day!
Today, we completed our Daily Mile much earlier than usual to avoid the hottest part of the day. We researched the shadiest local walks we could find and even discovered a lovely place we didnβt know existed right on our doorstep.
Although it was still very warm, we came prepared with water bottles, ice lollies, and sun hats to help keep everyone cool and comfortable.
Letβs hope tomorrow brings slightly cooler weather and an even more enjoyable day!
What a beautiful day we have been blessed with today! The sunshine and warm weather made it the perfect opportunity for some exciting water play outdoors. The children thoroughly enjoyed splashing, pouring, filling containers, and exploring the different ways water moves.
(Water play supports childrenβs physical development by strengthening hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. It also encourages communication and language as children describe what they are doing and work together with their friends. Water exploration promotes problem-solving, curiosity, and understanding of early mathematical concepts such as volume and capacity, supporting the EYFS areas of Learning and Development.)
The children showed wonderful teamwork, turn-taking, and imaginative play throughout the activity. It was lovely to see so many smiles, laughter, and confident exploration while keeping cool in the sunshine!
