Around eight weeks ago, Glenn walked through our doors and introduced himself. He told me he’d recently been released from prison and was looking for work and a chance to rebuild his life.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have any jobs available, but we came to an agreement. I offered Glenn the opportunity to launch his Personal Training business from Strength Station, and in return he would clean the gym to cover his rent.

Since day one, Glenn has worked tirelessly.

Not only has he taken incredible pride in keeping the gym spotless, but he’s also made the effort to get to know our members, welcome everyone through the doors and become a genuine part of our community. His work ethic, attitude and determination to turn his life around have been inspiring to watch.

The amazing thing is… our members noticed too.

Last week, I asked if anyone would be willing to donate towards buying Glenn a bike so he could get around more easily and continue building his future.

The response was unbelievable.

Today, we were proud to present Glenn with his brand-new bike.

To every single member who donated, thank you. Your kindness has shown Glenn that hard work doesn’t go unnoticed and that when you surround yourself with the right people, good things can happen.

A huge thank you also to Terry Wright Cycles, Peterborough, for helping make this possible.

This is exactly why gyms can be so much more than a place to train.

Strength Station has become a community where people from all walks of life are welcomed with open arms. A place where positive people create positive outcomes. A place where second chances are supported, not judged.

Sometimes, all someone needs is a community that believes in them.

I’m incredibly proud of Glenn, and I’m even prouder of every single member who helped make today happen.
